I read Melmoth, too. It was very compelling at the time, but I discovered when I saw it mentioned here that I couldn’t remember anything about it! I had to look up a review to remember the plot. I had chosen it because I had read an earlier book by Sarah Perry, The Essex Serpent. (I picked that one because it had a fabulous cover.)

Right now, I’m rereading The Name of the Wind in hopes that Patrick Rothfuss is finally getting close to finishing the third book in his trilogy.

I love the covers of her books. Melmoth (hardcover) is beautiful.

Which book of hers did you like more? I keep trying to decide if I should read The Essex Serpent or not.

    Yum! Who doesn't like bread?!

Which reminds me, I have some bread I should go start mixing so it has time to rise....

    Nothing, I don't read books!
(kind of joking. I listen to audio books sometimes, the most recent of which was The Inspector Calls, though it was kind of a play)

Bread: My bread did not turn out right. :/ I added too much salt which I read interferes with bread rising. I did not know this.

Books: I am reading Any Human Heart and wow. What an amazing book!

I am also about half-way through Winter by Ali Smith. I read Autumn in 2017. I am wanting to read Spring to catch up a bit.

    It had to be said.

Since my last post above, I have read:

As the Women Lay Dreaming by Donald S Murray
The Victory Garden by Rhys Bowen
The Heart of the Garden by Victoria Connelly
Tall Chimneys by Allie Cresswell (definitely recommend this one)
