Should I start building th 9 or max out?

Upgrade you townhall you have maxed the important defense structures. Town hall 9 has two wall levels to keep you busy .

Max your AT's and then go. Cannons are cheap and quick, so you can do that while your th upgrades

You should max out everything but walls. You can do walls later.

If you still want to farm walls definitely upgrade to th9. Especially if you are getting bored now that you can't upgrade anymore walls for a while.

Always max defenses before going up and walls its kinda a personal choice but it shows laziness and lack of skill to not have at least lvl7s going up to th9. Level 8s were so easy to farm though so I don't see why everyone doesn't get them done before going up. Black walls intimidate most normal farmers in gold and silver and you'll almost always get a shield instead of a raid with them and a th outside. Just makes life so much easier

If your troops are near maxed as well you really should go up.

I would suggest the teslas. Ik they take forever but they are worth it.
