    Battery being consumed

I noticed recently that my iPad mini is losing power at an alarming rate.

Eventually I realised that with Hay Day running its losing maybe 5% in 2-3 minutes. Double tap to close the game entirely and the drain stops. With it in the background power is still being used faster than expected but slower than when itís being played. Iím assuming this is since either the last game update or iOS 12.4 being installed.

Anyone else seeing this? Is it worth uninstalling and reinstalling?

    Thanks

Mine does the same, also I noticed using the chat bar it drains even faster , a few in the hood have the same problem.
Most of the time I have to play with the power cable attached. ☹️

To my knowledge we haven't done any changes which would suddenly drain the battery more than expected. If you have just installed iOS12.4 you may want to give it a couple of days time to do all the cacheing and such which drains battery more than normal. You can read about it for example here: https://www.zdnet.com/pictures/ios-1...you-should-do/

I can check back with the team about this, but I can't say for sure if there's a "magic trick" to save battery life. Apps, generally games with much going on, consume battery life on devices (especially older devices). You can check your battery health by doing the following:

    1. Open the Settings app on the iPhone.
    2. Choose “Battery”
    3. Tap on “Battery Health”

In some cases the battery health is so poor that iOS recommend to service it, i.e. change it to a new one.

    Cheers,

    Nick

or maybe uninstall the game completely and reinstall could maybe help, some junk could stay behind from updating the game to many times and causes glitches in some cases.

Interesting, I didn’t know that you could check on battery that way. Thanks Nick
