Why would you spend 3000 gems for rune of dark elixir if you donít need it?

Moreover, if the refund price would be the same as what you can buy it from the trader, people would have waaaaaay too many gems after several clan games/ gold passes.

The idea of the runes is that you use them and they help you progress faster. They are not meant to be kept and saved as some sort of investment, I think.

Depreciation is a natural trend in economics. It's very rare that you can buy something and turn around to sell it for a profit. I didn't say impossible.

The purpose of a rune is not to generate gems. The price of the rune relates to the price of DE.

50 gems is generous. You could just lose it if you can't store it.

It is expected that the sale value would be lower than the purchase price, but the sale price should be proportional to the purchase price eg. Training potion costs 25, sells for 10 and power potion costs 300 gems and sells for 10 gems. Surely based on the sell price of the training potion, the power potion should sell for 120 gems, or some rebalancing where training sells for 5, and power sells for 60

Think of it this way. Supercell doesn’t want your rune (that I’m assuming you got from your season pass and didn’t actually pay anything for). They don’t stockpile them in a back room waiting for the next buyer. It just gets deleted. So, Supercell is giving you 50 gems for an item that you are just deleting. Not too bad.

Damn, I thought they had them stored in a back room, I was hoping to go to supercell HQ just to see the room with all the tunes and hammers stored on shelves
