A new war match making idea...

I知 not sure if this is just me or not but I知 a th11 that owns a clan almost level 7 and I have been matched up with clans around level 15, they have +2 troops level donation meaning all their war bases get higher defense then ours at the same weight. Puting my clan at the disadvantage, either we can make wars separated into levels 1-4 by then self and 5-9 and 10+ in their own war category or make the donation upgrade not effective on wars. Has anybody ever thought of this? Enemy clan castle has greater defense. No fair!

war weight is counted not the clan lvl during clan war
We also face some time hard clan like lvl14-18
you can try taking lower townhalls to war with low lvl clans
your clan is lvl7 right so you are also getting +1 lvl advantage
if you are maxed you donate troops to clan war cc and they become max it is not unfair for you

What you describe is 100% accurate. I disagree with your evaluation of the situation however.

Just like upping your troops each TH level did you ever think it was unfair that you had level 5 loons when your opponent only had level 3? You likely said to yourself that your troop advantage was because you had spent the time raiding and saving your resources so you could upgrade... essentially, you earned it. Did you ever donate troops to your clan as a TH 11 and think it was unfair your opponent didnt have a TH11 to donate troops to his clan? You likely thought that you had earned that advantage too. Did you ever think it was unfair that your defense was better developed than your opponent? Likely, you thought you had earned that advantage as well.

A clan that has a +2 perk has done exactly what you have done, earned it. if you want fair, you already have it. All you have to do is upgrade your TH to 12 and upgrade all your troops to max and you can do it too. You could also war your way to the + 2 perk and earn it that way. There is nothing unfair here whatsoever.

Adding more parameters to the matching algorithm will increase search times or increase mismatches in weight.

The matching is made before the CC's are filled. Just because you have a higher TH than your opponent, it does not mean it will be filled by that individual, it could be filled by your bottom player. Same thing applies to +2, just because you have that perk does not mean that you will get maxed troops, it may be the bottom person who fills the CC and the +2 turns a level 1 loon into a level 3 which could still be way lower than your opponent. How is the MM supposed to figure out what you MIGHT do?

No, there's no point in working for something if it provides you zero advantage. Also factor in that it now creates a lot of opportunity to game the system by starting new clans just for war, have them be low-level, and then make sure you've either got a person to donate max troops or have another clan you can go to for troops.

Based on your logic, the matching must also account for not having anyone sitting out the war in the clan that could provide maxed troops the opponent cannot get, not allow anyone to join who has maxed troops to donate them, and not allow anyone to leave the clan to get maxed troops for the war. Offensive weight counts too, so if you're going to regulate the clan castle defense troops, you've also got to regulate clan castle offensive troops or else it is pointless.

What is fair? Is it that each and every attribute must be absolutely and unequivocally equal? No, does not. Should a basketball team with their tallest player at 6.5 feet, shortest player at 5.5 feet tall not be matched to a team with two 7' players, and no players under 5.8'? Even if all player heights are equal across the board, should they then only play on neutral courts to prevent "home team advantage"?

You simply cannot match via absolute equality. Even then as JohnnyPC noted, with more parameters, far less odds to find a match, longer delays.

Fair simply means that "all are abiding by the same rules". That Level 15 clan that you were matched to was a Level 7 clan at one time, matched under the same rules then that you are being matched today.

Think of yourself as an expansion team in any professional sport. Yes, at the begining your team is cannon fodder. But each season you strengthen, becoming more competitive. Think of Level 1 through 10 as a clan's " expansion years". Work to get to 10 quickly as possible, which then "fixes" the very same problem you desire to correct.

Clan of 30 max TH12 make a new lvl 1 clan, search for opponent, get matched with much easier opponent.

No, clan level shouldn't be part of the equation.
