So I had a funny Hay Day story I wanted to share-

As many know, the SC staff will sometimes put out little clues about the next event or update and in anticipation of the Winter theme coming, my family and I were all stockpiling diamonds for the winter theme item purchases. Well, one of the "clues"I found posted in the news/ announcements section encouraged all of the people to buy the candy cauldrons even if they didn't celebrate Halloween. Additionally, another subsequent "clue" stated the new winter theme was coming and we would all be in for a "SWEET surprise!"

Now if you look closing at the candy buckets, they do have candy canes and what appears to be Easter eggs inside them! Being the trained investigator that I am, I took this "clue" to mean that the candy cauldrons would change into Christmas stockings for Christmas and maybe Easter baskets for Easter. I immediately called all of my family and friends who play to give them "inside skinny" on my clairvoyant deductions........encouraging everyone to stock up on the cauldrons. Most bought two or three more. Now my mom is a huge Christmas enthusiast and decided to buy over 20 cauldrons in anticipation of having the most stockings!!!!!!! My mom had actually decorated her farm by dedicating each corner of her farm to a season, spring summer fall winter- leaving the winter section with just pine trees until the update arrived. She placed her 20 cauldrons in the fall area and eagerly awaited the update!

..... Upon completing the Winter Theme update, my sister and I were quite disappointed at my epic fail in uncovering the "clues." Then we decided to call my mom and break the bad news to her. However, we thought we would play a little joke first...we hid all of our cauldrons and made the call....

As my mom was finishing the update while we were on the telephone, we told our mom that the cauldrons had turned into the poinsettias(which we had purchased prior to the call). Once her update finished, she told us, incredibly disappointed, that her cauldrons had not changed. We told her maybe it was a "bug" and she should try restarting her app/ iPad which she did with no success. Then we suggested that perhaps the cauldrons hadn't changed because they were still in the "fall" area and didn't know to change because they were not in the "winter" section on her farm. My mom agreed that was probably the problem and began moving all of cauldrons to the "winter" section to no avail! My sister and I lost it, laughing so hard our stomachs hurt!

We had to break the news to her that the cauldrons did not in fact turn into poinsettias and she was in fact stuck with 20 candy cauldrons! I must admit I still get a little chuckle to this day thinking about her moving her cauldrons!

Does anyone else have any funny stories from reading a little too much into the "clues" or anticipating a new event that never comes????
