Rewinding functionality in the playback features

I’ve asked Supercell about adding a “rewind” option, or functionality, to the gameplay when watching replays of previous raids and attacks, and they advised me to bring up the topic here in the forum, so that’s what I’m doing. I would rather have a single rewind function when watching replays rather than multiple (slow-motion) forward moving replays. This would help in watching replays as I wouldn’t have to start each replay over and over again from the beginning when watching specific areas of any attack or defense. A lot of times, there is a lot going on during an attack, and to keep from having to start a single replay over and over and over again, just to get to a single 10-20 second window that I want to see in particular, a “rewind” function could prove to be most useful as it would save so much time rather than to start a replay all over, and over, and over again to see those sections that you’re looking to study and use to either perfect your attack strategy, improve your base design, or both...and so much more. Please consider this as an option and see what steps can be taken to hopefully have this addition implemented into future gameplay. Thanks!

Unfortunately, that is what SC support always say. They really should be given more information, so that they don't do that with ideas that are ruled out, or with impossible to implement ideas.

A lot of people would like this, but it falls under the impossible, without a complete revamp of the way replays are handled, and an increase of required storage and Internet traffic by a order of magnitude.

Replays are not stored or transmitted as videos, they are just a set of data points detailing the original base layout and defences, and the position and time of troop drops, plus the random number seed.

The replay is then generated on the fly by repeating those actions. This only requires a few hundred bytes, while a video would require megabytes.

And that's exactly why replays vanish, as soon SC does meddle with the AI. Since the replay would no longer show the exact result.
It's not to clear out storage-space, as some are thinking.

I kind of wish they left the replays there myself.
They have all the initial condition data, it would just be troop AI and defense stats etc that changed.
Sure the result would (probably) be different, but it could be interesting to see how different.

Honestly they are awful now, and getting worse.
Many of their replies are nonsense and have almost nothing to do with the question.

Well, we can't assume all supporter have a list of ruled out ideas and we as well can't assume they are working for clash only. Support is a low paid job that usually is paid with a bonus per customer taken.
And since the 'important' support-questions should get overshadowed by the 'regular' stuff by FAR, it's no wonder the support seems 'poor'. The most important questions should/will be redirected to someone that can make the most of it (hence it may take some time to get answers), but the rest most likely will be dealt with non-expert human, maybe hardly knowing clash. At least that's the way I know the business. Had to visit such places for quite some job-inverviews and was working in such environment for a few days.
Unless it's a game like some big burner that can afford their own support-team, it's a place to cut the budget, since you hardly need specialists available 24/7.
And with ppl asking 'What is the next update!?!??!??!??!????' and 'Why only 8 attacks in legends!??!?????!?!???' I can completely understand that.

That beeing said, the times I had to deal with the support, it was fast and on spot.
