Sorry that is something Kat doesn’t know and cannot do. I have no say with what support will and won’t do, I can’t go sit in their seat and make promises like that. There is however a player report in this thread somewhere who said they got the 425 gems back after buying it and messaging support about it. I haven’t seen it actually happening myself so I can’t give a definite answer whether they will or won’t.
However if you did buy the book I always say you can always try to contact them and ask them about it. Maybe they will refund it.
If you don’t ask when you’re in that situation you’ll know for sure it would be a no, if you do ask you might get a yes.
Quite frankly I do not know, they might have just left it also as it’s not possible to buy multiple books from the trader at any time, they might have left it alone and people might have been lucky if it happened to them. There’s little point in speculating about it and even more little point to start a conspiracy.
This problem rose to the surface when they tried introducing more of our beloved BoH in the cycle late Thursday. Friday was June 21 also known as midsummer, when the summer days have the most hours of daylight. In Finland that’s a time for festivities and celebrations for a couple of days with generally people being off work.
How would you like it if your boss called you in to work on a holiday for something relatively trivial which could’ve easily waited for a little ?. And yes I’d call it relatively trivial if it worked both ways here. Let’s get real for a minute because without Thursday's maintenance people seeing the 925 book wouldn’t even be seeing that book in the first place. And sure I can’t blame people for not buying it because 925 is just too much in my opinion.
Now one could argue why have maintenance that late / close to being out all weekend. Well for starters they wanted to try and get as many bugfixes into the maintenance as they could. Generally they don’t like the game being down too often or too long. So they try and fix as much as they can within one maintenance. Furthermore with any maintenance there’s a lot more work involved then just the 20 or 30 (or something) minutes the game is unavailable. From identifying an issue, reproducing it, finding a fix, testing it and monitoring it there’s lot of work that goes into a maintenance before and after.
So leave the tinfoil hat in the coat room at the door, it really serves no purpose and adds nothing here. Even though I do understand that you don’t like how they handled it then just say that and leave it at that.
PS, for what it’s worth, I too have the 925 book in my shop offer currently. I too am out of luck here.
