Question New legends league and season reset, what will happen?

What do you think will happen, after the first season reset in legends after the update in a month from now.

Every legend will have 5,000 trophies at the first day. They can only attack each other, so no additional trophies from titan players are possible to be gained.

Does this mean, the current legends league requires an everlasting flow of new players who reach legends just to not shrink?

Some legends will gain, some will lose trophies and after a while they will drop out of the league as it is designed right now.

    Do i miss something here?

You miss that trophies do not need to be created.

Someone may be unlucky and face 8 defences on day 1 before they can attack and be pushed down below 4900 however they then just climb back to legends and rejoin.

There is zero reason for an endless flow of people.

Current legends will be likely merged in this season with the new legends mechanism

Specially lower townhalls will be kicked out of legend league in the next few days

    That's not my point though.

let's take two players as an example

    1. day
player 1 at 4.950 trophies, player 2 at 5,050 total sum of trophies is still the same, legends league size still the same

    2. day
player 1 at 4,900 and player 2 at 5,100 total sum of trophies is still the same, legends league size still the same

    3. day
player 1 at 4,850 and player 2 at 5,150 legends league is smaller now

Without a constant flow of new players the legend league will shrink by design.

If you face 8 defenses before you can attack it does not matter, the trophy calculation only happens at the end of the day.
You can't be dropped because you are unlucky with your timezones and the time of day you can do your 8 attacks (which is very fair when you think about it)

How many people who get dropped from legend do you really think are going to try it again? they will be the exception to the rule, rather than what is normal. Why would you do it to yourself again?

In my opinion a lot of people who think they are better than average (and aren't actually that good) are going to get dropped because for all the players climbing in cups, someone is dropping.

Been wondering the same as OP. Another way of putting it, is: if nobody leaves LL the average number of cups in LL will always be exactly 5000. That means that for each player going over 5100, on average one needs to drop below 4900. Which means the LL pool will indeed shrink over time (unless there is a constant flux of new players)

And there will be a constant flux of new players joining everyday the LL.

Yes, somehow. But in your example player 1 can get 100 throphies in Titan and joins Legend League again on day 4 and suddenly we have (5000+5150)/2=5075 trophies on average per player in LL.

The average will probably increase over time from 5000 by players that were dropped out at 4900 but rejoin.

I'm not so sure if many players will return several times to legends league, as long as it comes with the sign up for the next league day only and not beeing able to attack once you got there.

You theoretically only need 9 people in legends for the new system to work, no?
