This turns to be the most controversial update in the history of this game.
Seems that something changed in SC decisions and fundamentals of this game such as:
* play for free pay for extra
* play how you want it
are diminishing.

Players who won't pay are slowed down (cool down on medals but no cool down on gems with the pathetic excuse of "maxing in one day") instead of giving those who pay an option to progress faster they slow down those who don't pay.
Players who won't play the way SC want them are slowed down as well, they won't get the builder.

Not to speak of the content release that will affect very small number of players (those with maxed BH8 who like it) and legends league.
rest of the update is the usual balance changes and some more things for maxed th12s to upgrade.

Daryan, i know it's not your decisions, but as the community manager you are the address to hear opinions and my opinion is:

If actually most of the players liked bb, then SC wouldn't have to add this new reason or incentive for players to play bb.

Haha... You got it. It's like SC is trying everything they could to force people play BB, earlier it was clan games, season challenges, events etc. But now they took 1 step further, what community wants the most? New builder? Here you go, BUT play BB first. LOL

All Supercell has to do is to provide us with 2 options:

1- play BB and get your sixth builder for free
2- pay whatever amount of gems they seem worthy to get it.

I’d rather go with second option and I’m pretty sure many would as well.

Well, you must be now one happy puppy because they have provided you with that second option. That ”whatever amout of gems” though depends on how far you have progressed so far in BB

I like it all. Had some time to think through my approach. I had slowed on the builder base but the challenges have got me into it. So to have a stronger link between the main village and builder base does give builder base some meaning which in most cases is all we are looking for.

We won't need a second builder on Builder base unless they change the cost and earn rate ratio. It has always taken longer to earn loot than finish an upgrade.

On the main village 6 builders are nice but the time to achieve the Otto requirements on a new village verse the real need to have an extra builder was about th10. I think there is a mismatch here. Past that I think only a handful of times I have said I would like a 6th builder. But that is based on my clash/life balance. I know others commit to raiding 12 mill every 2 days so a 6th builder would be good.

For the majority I assume the 6th builder will be a novelty rather than a need.

Having said that. It looks cool. And when th13 eventually comes I will have a dedicated wall builder.

To summarise. I look forward to the update and I got my magic items all lined up.

I would say, based on your pov, enjoy the free to play model until you max your town hall 11. Then when you upgrade to th12. It won't actually matter to you any more and you will understand why.

When we said that we wanted to minimize how Builder Base affected Main Village, if you harken back to my earlier posts, you'll see it largely refers to the Gear-Ups and how beneficial those upgrades will be for players. Having a 6th Builder, again - does provide a progressive advantage, provides very minimal tactical defensive/offensive advantage.

Well of course it refers to the gearups
The gearups were the ONLY connection between the two villages, what else in previous posts could it possibly have refered to?!?!

When you, and moderators have been saying, pretty much since Builder Base came out, "don't play it then if you don't like it, you aren't disadvantaged in any way" and suddenly that changes to "oh, if you haven't been pretty dilligently playing, you can't have your 6th builder" you can see why people are perplexed?

It just makes me wonder what else will they release in future locked behind a maxed builder hall. New troop for the main village? Maybe a new hero? It is entirely possible for SC to say: Upgrade battle machine to level Whatever and you can use him in the main village...
Well at least playing builder base will be more worth it.
