    “CONFIRM” Leader Promotion

I think that it would be nice to have people enter “CONFIRM” before promoting somebody to leader to avoid what could become a tragic accident.

This feature would work similar to the “CONFIRM” for changing your username or consecutively purchasing large packs of gems to avoid accidental purchases.

One time, somebody promoted me to leader of their clan by accident and then asked for it back. Being the generous and trustworthy co-leader that I was, I promoted him back. However, if I was not so nice then he would’ve lost his clan.

I think this feature would help out leaders of clans so that they never risk making accidental promotions and losing their clans, and would like to hear the inputs of other forumers as well.

Hmmm.... I've been leader of a clan for almost 5 years now. I've never even come close to accidentally promoting someone to take my place. How does that even happen? IMO it would have to be flat out carelessness at play.

Anyway, if there isn't some sort of confirmation screen right now, there definitely should be something that prompts and asks "are you sure?" More than that is overkill. Think about how many people this realistically affects in the CoC population - first it's only leaders so that makes it a small percentage, then it's only the leaders who somehow "accidentally" (i.e. carelessly) get into this situation, which I have to believe is a minuscule percentage of leaders. It's hard to justify SC's developers taking time to implement something that might help such a small part of the player base.

If it's super easy and quick to implement, then OK, otherwise pass.

There is one. After you press "Promote to Leader" a popup says "Do you want to promote XYZ to Leader and demote yourself to Co-Leader" with a red (cancel) button and a green (allow) button.

I've done this when traveling with my main to give a mini "the bridge" while I am away and then conferring Leadership back to my main when it returns.

Transferring Leadership is an act not to be done lightly and when the popup appears I make doubly sure the transfer is correct rather than just clicking OK.

Not sure a "Confirm" button would change much.

    Change leader.

    Are you sure?

    Yes.

    Are you really, really sure?

    Yes.

    Look everything over press "Confirm."

    Confirm.

    Are you sure?

    ...

This makes sense. I would be happy to see it in the game either way, but it only makes sense to add it if it’s easy to code.

It wouldn’t function like an extra press-a-button-type confirmation window. You would type “Confirm” letter by letter in all caps just like you do when you’re confirming that back-to-back gem purchases are not accidental.

But the prompt still comes up after you hit promote or demote. Take a second and read. Boom.
