I disagree with classifying it as donating resources. You're not reducing what's being spent by the player who's building -- you're adding to the total that is being spent for that upgrade.

Ideally, I'd like to see them just reduce the build times a couple of days for the really high end items. 10, 12 and especially 14 days seems over the top. But, this at least gives SC something for making those reductions.

I think SC has a growing problem with high end players, who have purchased a lot of gems in the past, becoming dissatisfied with the game and the slow play at TH 9 and 10. This may solve some, not all, of that dissatisfaction. Besides, if they were going to gem, shaving a couple of days off of a long build won't be enough to make them skip gemming.

I also like that clan members would be contributing more equitably.

This change to the game would increase the demand for gold, elixir and DE while not increasing the supply. It will encourage players to be more active, or gem for those extra resources. Both would be good from SC's view.

I believe increasing the demand for resources for the same upgrades at the same cost also addresses concerns regarding this being donating resources to players.

Shaving a couple of days off of a 12 day upgrade will not discourage people who would have gemmed the upgrade previously from gemming it with this change. If you're not willing to wait 12 days for an upgrade to finish, you're going to want to see a much shorter upgrade time before you're willing to wait it out instead of gemming.

Doesn't anyone else feel that the game has really bogged down at the high end because of the long upgrade times? As previously pointed out, I would also like to see them reduce those times. This change would do that while giving SC something out of the deal and rewarding clans who work together. Again, all good things in my book.

I like everything but the taking out donating troops idea. I think that you can still do it even when contributing to buildings. After all, what if your saving up elixer but need another drag in your clan castle? Drags ate costly people.

Crazy people out there would create whole clans full of dummy accounts and use them to speed up the buildings of their main account. It wouldn't even be that hard since 1% of the most expensive buildings in the game is only 80k.

But, it would be a whole lot simpler and less time consuming to find an active, donating clan........

And this is why the idea will not work.

Same response. Can you imagine the time and effort needed to run 50 CoC accounts to get these boosts? Wouldn't it be much, much simpler just to join a clan. Even if you did create 50 bases to boost your own, you have no advantage over someone in an active clan.
