Each clan member could contribute 1% of the total upgrade cost for a 0.5% reduction in the upgrade time. The total time reduction would be capped at 25%.
A new page could be added to the clan castle to show on-going projects looking for contributions. Each player would be limited to one project at a time. Players would toggle a flag on an upgrade to get a project added to the clan page.
Once a project has been removed from the clan page, it can’t be put back on (to make it easier for CoC to track who’s contributed to the project and progress toward the 25% cap). The player would have to remove their project from the clan page list (rather than removing it by toggling a new project – which could result in an accidental removal).
This speed-up could be used on building upgrades as well as troop / spell upgrades in the lab.
Since players would now be making significant contributions of gold, elixir and DE, I would remove troop donations and allow players to fill their own by CC by pulling from their camps.
This system would also bring more parity to players ability to contribute. It wouldn’t be affected by different playing times or having to have the desired troops ready when a contribution request is made.
To make trophies more relevant, I would give an additional bonus reduction in time based upon the player’s league level and the contributions reaching a certain threshold. Again, these numbers are illustrative. Once a project has received 40 (50’s a bit unrealistic most of the time) contributions from clanmates, it would receive the time reductions below:
Bronze III : 1%
Bronze II: 2%
.
.
.
Master II: 14%
Master 1: 15%
Champion: 20% (probably not real relevant as they will have few upgrades and typically gem theirs).
The 40 threshold will also serve to encourage fuller clan participation.
