2300 is where I maxed out in my last push as a mid-TH8, and so hopefully what I saw is what you are seeing - crystal 2 is NOT for a TH8! Sure you can make it there, but you're also fresh meat. It is all strong TH9 or average TH10 there. You can't have your cake and eat it too. If you want to be in a trophy range suitable for probably only the top 5% of TH8 players, then you can't also be farming.
Just a general comment regarding the supposedly "right" trophy range for a player.
TH8 thinks he should be at crystal league, but gets trashed every single time he logs off. Clearly proven, he doesn't belong in crystal league.
Same goes for TH9 at masters. Even maxed TH9s will get trampled constantly at master leagues, which is why they were beaten down to Crystal league.
You're making a lot of assumptions about me.
this update really moved things around, and also took a lot of fun away.
whats weird is the number of 15k raids I get hit with. People trying to keep their bonuses.
My defenses, except air defense are maxed, so I win a fair bit, even where I don't "belong" except when a max 10 rolls in

1600 is a pretty suitable range I hear for gold and dark elixer. I'm almost finished with TH8 (my BK is lvl 10) so I'm trying out 1300-1400. The gold is good, sometimes great, and you almost never get attacked by any high level players so its definitely a consideration.
I understand where you're coming from OP. For those of us who like a challenge... 1600 isn't it. I'm in Crystal 3 right now, but only for DE. And as much as I'd like to push further and stay up there... I know it will be pointless. My defences as a TH8 are maxed, just a whole load of skull walls I have to deal with now.
Let's hope that on an update in the future they balance this out a little.
The way I see it you kind of have to choose between farming and trophy hunting anyways, so if you are farming, league / trophy level is pretty irrelevant. Farmers, regardless of TH level, will go where the loot is easiest for them to accumulate quickly and currently crystal league appears to be the league of choice for TH9 and TH10 to farm (master is also very popular for farming with TH10).
If you want to both farm and trophy hunt at the same time you need to realize and accept that both (farming and trophy hunting) will be less efficient than if you just prioritized one.
When you go looking for opponents how many other th8's do you see? Was in crystal last month during clans push and my experience was that vast majority of bases arpund me were nines and tens. Don't tell me you would not jump on a rich th7 like a drunk guy seeing a prom queen? Surprise surprise, you are a small fish in a big pond. Don't be surprised when the big fish see you as lunch.
That cup range is not for Th8 to farm, that's a fact.

Very much agreed. The OP is well within his/her rights to stay in this league range but should also understand that in doing so will be preyed upon by countless 9s and 10s looking for easy prey. Do the smart thing and drop to gold 1. FARM at a more appropriate trophy range. The game is pretty transparent and to expect different results by rigidly doing the contrary is frankly maniacal.
