Since you are not supposed to us Tom during the SEC I would think that Rose and Ernest will need to be on holiday as well.

That's what I thought too..they are on holidays, quietly knitting and reading the paper on the cliff. Wish they keep an eye on my tomatoes which seems to disapear so fast from silo!

    Quick update about challenge.

After 10 days, things are going well, 115 products full done, even if I started to have barn room issues. A kind neighbor helped me with barn and silo expansion, which I was about to expand today. This is clearly giving me an advantage in the challenge. To minimize it, I decided to wheat and corn like crazy, and sell back to her asap (already half done). Hope it's ok.

Last week derby glitch DID change things and I was opted in, but I was lucky with crop and feed tasks and completed it (CL, 300+).

I was curious about the total number of items to produce, incl. those we use. I haven't found that (?), so computed a bit, using data from existing spreadsheets (among others https://forum.supercell.com/showthre...ay-Spreadsheet). The total amount is HUGE!! If calculations are right, 9840 items to produce in metal illness mode! Also learned a bit about milk/egg demand, and relative crop need (attached if I done it properly).

Let's see the next phase (wait for jams - stock on sugar and dairy), maybe I should sit by Rose and ask Ernest to read the paper aloud. :-)

Oh, so glad this was bumped to front page! I missed the updates before...

fermelatte, sounds like you're doing great. Doing the barn upgrade like that was smart. It doesn't make sense to throw away your bems otherwise so good decision! Best wishes for continued enjoyment during your challenge.

tvanwinkle, awesome, congrats on finishing the challenge successfully! Way to go!! I wish there was a way to friend you now too but unfortunately with GC gone we can only hope that SC will come up with something in a future update.

    Challenge completed yesterday!
    Start Oct. 29th - End Nov 23rd
    End stats:
    Lvl 105: (+1.5 )
    Coins 8051789 (+900k)
Diamonds 502 (+142, including those we got from update)
Silo 2300, barn 2350(upgraded once each)

Challenge is actually a good money maker, with lot of wheating, which you need to sell, as well as tools you're not interested in and surplus products. Increase of diamonds was a surprise, even taking into account the update ones. Anyone else noticed an increase in diamond drops since update ?

I found the last part -jam waiting- a bit long. Next time, think i d go either for the basic mode, or setting jams and candies to 5 each, as I have seen in a previous post. This would reduce time for this machine from about 25 days to about 19 (basic mode) or 13 days (5 each).

Anyway enjoyed it, and will certainly be scorching again.
Thanks ChedarLimbo and others to have set this up and kept it updated!

Congratulations!!!! Quite an accomplishment. Five weeks until I have the Derby Achievement and I will be ready to do another SEC. I will be thinking about the mode I will try. Hopefully I will keep track of the stats better than last time.

fermelatte, congratulations! 502 diamonds, wow!! Sounds like you did great and had lots of fun.

I'm getting ready to start another scorch soon. Possibly as early as Thursday, maybe Sunday. Will do metal illness and will start from 0 coins.

Only exception is that I have some green lures made that I will keep and reserve to use if and only if one of the holiday decoration events (xmas or New Years) is a fishing event.
