Hi Becca, any update on your scorch yet?

Did you make it back into champion league and how is everything else going?

I'm 5 days in now, have my jungle farm replanted which took several days starting from 0 coins! Crops are now under control, takes a while for the tea, onions, and strawberries especially. Did 2 boats so hopefully we make the 5-diamond event goal. Candy maker well under way, but just started my smelters yesterday as I wanted to build up a good supply of tools first to (hopefully) encourage more drops while wheating. Will see if that holds true or not.

Hoping you're doing well. Let us know when you get a chance.

Oh, and Happy Canada Day long weekend!! (fellow canuck here)

I think though I am going to give it a go, as soon as my derby achievement is done, I have 19 weeks to brave up
I enjoyed it. It was refreshing to grow wheat, harvest eggs and be self sufficient. I decided to do candy crush as the drop on mining tools would have meant weeks and weeks work to complete all the ore needed to supply bars and jewellery. I might give it another go but not for a while yet and definitely not Armageddon ....thats just crazy talk

Shepherdgirl, you are my hero! Starting from 0 coins. Yikes! That's just scary. I enjoyed doing candy crush version enough that I'm almost ready to do metallica.

And thanks for for helping my farm.

Aw, thanks Momscar, and you're most welcome for the boat help. So glad to still be able to help the odd boat, and thank you for the gift cards!

It's actually kind of freeing to start from 0 coins -- strangely fulfilling to build back up again. And maybe someday I'll use the new edit feature for a holiday design using 15M worth of gold walls from storage, lol.

Loving the scorch. Platinum dropping slowly so probably have at least a couple more weeks to go, but that's okay. Derbying as usual, and actually came first for the first time ever last week. Have never even placed before and wasn't trying this time either. Glad we won though because I'd always wondered if the prizes were worth striving for. Now that I know they aren't, can stay happy with relaxed derbying. Grow some corn for 240 points ... perfect! ... sign me up!!

Finished my scorch (armageddon mode) this morning, and LOVED doing it. Here are my final stats:

Started: Tues, June 28, 12 noon
Finished: Sat, July 23, 5:30 am
Elapsed Time: 24 days, 17.5 hours

    Coins: start = 0, finish = 1,454,386
    Diamonds: start = 0, finish = 45
    Lures: start = 1707g, 746b, 331p, 128g
    finish = 1709g, 756b, 331p, 135g
    Level: start = early 127, finish = early 128

Really enjoyable. Main time factor in this scorch was the jam, because of the peach jam and marmalade from the last update. I actually finished all the candy and metals many days ago, and it was just a relaxing cruise this past week waiting on the jams. I was able to make lots of extra candy and metal goods than required for the challenge. Finished up with 20 caramel apples, 20 toffees, a dozen lollipops, 20 rings and 30+ silver, iron and coal bars, plus another 15 extra coal bars made into top hats, while waiting on the jams to finish.

Cheddar, thanks again for the creative idea and taking the time to document it!! I just love the zen farming aspect of scorching every once in a while. It pulls me out a rat-race type rut that my personality otherwise tends toward and makes farming really fun for me again. This was my third scorch, and I'm sure I'll be doing it again in the not to distant future!

Awesome job, shepherdgirl! You may have mentioned but did you do derby? If so, any hints for my next time? I was in a larger hood when I first scorched, so I opted out. I loved doing this and feel another coming real soon.

Hi Momscar. Yes I did derby, and to my very great surprise we actually won in champion league for the first time.

Scorching is totally conducive to derbying because you're doing a lot of basic farming tasks anyway. Pick collection and animal feed tasks and it's a snap. Especially the tasks like the 300+ feed all animals and the 300+ egg, milk, bacon collection. They aren't typically tasks that are heavily fought over because they're timed, but especially in the beginning of a scorch you're hyper focused on collecting a lot of animal products as quickly as possible anyway so it's dead simple to do these while derbying. Of course leave the boat, town, and truck tasks alone, but there are tons of other tasks that are simple to do during a scorch.

Have re fun on your next scorch and keep us posted.

Well done shepherdgirl! I noticed your name had changed in game, I would find it really hard to clean everything out like that to start it.

Maybe I would be more interested after I've unlocked & purchased all the machines; and of course got all the pets which is my #1 focus at the moment. The thought of dumping my bars & jewellery right now would be devastating.

    Congratulations !!

I'm considering which one to do, Utterly Ridiculous or Armageddon (not starting immediately, just thinking about it at the moment)

I think probably UR as there's absolutely no way I'd get 20 Gold Vouchers in 29 days. I could be months waiting on those alone as it's something you have no control over (other than doing max things to get 'a' voucher)

i might even even do my own version Almost Armageddon or Twisted Armageddon

SmallChange, that's the beautiful thing about this challenge! You can change it up for yourself. Depending on your record keeping, you really don't have to go broke! And I agree with the gold vouchers, it would take me forever to collect those. We will be here to cheer you on when you're ready to start.
