Well, I'm all set to begin the Scorched Earth Challenge, Armageddon Mode (rules on page 64).

I'm going to need to tweak it a bit 'cause my neighbourhood got demoted to Expert League for the first time in months :eek: and I'm not willing to redo the prep for this (clearing out vouchers, diamonds, gift certificates, and coins to zero is a bit tricky). So my personal derby challenge will be to complete the maximum number of derby tasks available each week at an average of 306 points each (this should have my 4-person neighbourhood achieving all of the horseshoe prizes). With any luck we'll be back in the Champion League next week.

Also, for the first time in a very long time I don't have all of the products unlocked (I'm at level 88). Going into the challenge I can make all but two products - Earl Grey tea and iced tea. Earl Grey tea unlocks at the next level and will definitely be included (I have no doubt I'll hit level 89 before the challenge is over). Iced tea will be included if I hit level 92 before I'm done with the challenge.

Also, my town is empty, my animals and pets are awake and hungry, I have two visitors requesting 1 wheat each, I have no trees or bushes, and my bees are sitting idle with 0 honeycomb collected.

Here I go - starting June 21 at noon (well, 12:05, so close enough ). Wish me luck and I'll be back with an update next week.

Edited the first post, to reflect the recent update. You now need to produce 1530 items for the base challenge, and 1,720 for the full compliment of items.

Also added clarifications about participating in the Derby, and using Neighborhood Trading.

Becca, awesome!!! Good luck and keep us posted. I decided that I'll start as soon as I can too, since it didn't seem worthwhile to buy all the trees and then just race to chop them all down, lol. Hopefully will be ready to join you either this weekend or on Monday.

I am about to join you, just waiting for the clock to strike noon my time in a couple of minutes then it's go time for me.

Doing utterly ridiculous mode, and decided to start also with 0 coins and 0 diamonds. Which was no mean feat because I wanted all the birthday deco so buying those diamonds and then spending them all on stuff I didn't really need was kind of odd. Oh well, all my machines are fully expanded now, and I have a bunch of other deco in storage. LOL.

Ooops, clock just struck noon as I'm writing this so I'm off to start right now!

Reasonably new to the forum so first time seeing this challenge, it sent shivers down my spine, getting rid of products no problem... trees!! well that is a whole other matter.

You don't have to get rid of them. You can put them all away on one part of the farm & promise not to use them

I was thinking about this the other night and wondering if anyone who did this a while ago would do it again now we have new machines & so many new products.

I definitely want to do it, but I'm waiting until I've finished the Champions League Achievement. I often Derby solo or with one other and it seems like too much stress to me, I'd like to be able to chill out about the SE Challenge.
