Thanks I'm sure I'll know when the time is right. I'm not in a hurry, just enjoying my farm.

It would be hard to keep the ore if you are doing Metal Illness Mode because you would need to keep track of how much ore you have before you start mining, but it is usually just zero to two of each the whole way through until you start collecting ores after you have made all of the jewelry for that ore and the bars... Not too much trouble though. I have been doing all animal collection tasks because you do that anyway. Also mining fills up your barn really fast.. but yes, you could sell all the ore. It is up to you what you do as you can tweak the rules to make it more fun for you.

if you are just doing Candy Crush and not the jewelry etc (Metal Illness). I am sure you can keep all of your ore, except for the great lack of barn space at the end. But you still should start with zero, nada... Unless you change the rules for yourself.... Like I said it is up to you. It is your own personal challenge.

    Love,

    Sammy

I keep making my ore into bars, so much a habit already, now I just need coal ore I can't stop making coal bars, lol. Also I keep giving away small amounts of my ten of everything cuz, you know, it feels so good to help my neighbors... Getting closer to being finished with the jewelry! I will be around to cheer all of you guys on! Getting so excited with all of you starting soon!

An update on my progress in preparing:

I've got 10 lemon trees and 19 olive trees that have been moved out of my orchard and will be used as deco until the end of the challenge. There are still 10 blackberry bushes on their last cycle and they'll be ready by this time tomorrow. I've got enough axes to cut them down but I'm short six saws for my dead apple trees. I was just going to move them out of the way if the saws didn't materialize but three of my derby horseshoes have saws as prizes so I'll be able to clear everything

I've 16 white nectar bushes that have been shifted out of my bee area - I'll hold off on reviving them until the challenge is over. In the meantime my bees are on hiatus with 0 nectar collected and they'll be well rested and ready to go on Monday.

Production on my farm is still well underway but I'm overly conscious of the queue times, especially on longer production items in the jam maker, sauce maker, and candy machine. I've been filling boat crates I'd normally ignore (duck, bee, sugar, and dairy products), and doing fish and truck tasks for the derby to use up lures and products. There're still about 1500 items in my barn so I'll be selling a lot on Monday, but that should ensure I'm flush and able to buy the new pasta kitchen as soon as it comes out and include those products in the challenge.

I'm planning to start selling everything off on Monday about 10am (mountain time) and should be able to officially start the challenge about noon. It'll be interesting not knowing what ingredients I'll need for new products until later but what's life without surprises, eh? Looking forward to Monday here, and don't forget to send a friend request in GC if you're interested in following the progress directly or buying some of the stock of my barn or silo

Well how hard is it to sell things when you are a hoarder?

Very hard!!! My silo is full but I just can't seem to sell things off very easily. I think about how long it takes to harvest berries and fruit and just can't part with them.
I only have a few trees left which will all be finished in the next 24 hours. I am watching carefully the production times to ensure all my machines are stopped on Sunday. With just 2 1/2 days to go I am definately on track to begin on Monday.

I have it fixed in my mind that if I can't use my production items at least I will be able to make life a little more comfortable for a short while for my NH, GC friends and any one else who stops by my farm. After all that is part of what Hay Day is about - the ability to help others.

I was reading the "Pay it forward thread" in memory of Woozle yesterday, and while I had no communication with her, I may even use that thread as a very special way to help some low level players.

Until Sunday have a great couple of days.

This is a wonderful idea Mitzimitz! And I see you're helping farmers working on turbo trucker achievements - that's a great tribute to Woozle (who I also didn't know, but she left an impact on these forums and seems like she was a lovely lady). Looking forward to the challenge with you on Monday
