If business as usual is making you yawn...

For anyone who has thought this challenge may be fun but had concerns, let me tell you it is awesome! My farm was a well oiled machine and my barn was stuffed with premium items. It was a blast selling off the goodies to my fellow farmers (and I will admit a but scary especially towards the end). Now that the challenge is in full swing, I am really enjoying it! If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask! A huge tip: stay on top of your crops! As a level 78 farmer i often bought wheat, corn, and even carrots & soybeans when I ran out. You cannot buy anything during the scorched earth challenge. Not even eggs and with all the feed you will need crop management is paramount! I make at least 100 of all first page crops every morning before planting medium-time plants and load up the feilds with longest-time plants at night.

If you are considering this and you are above level 70, i highly reccommend it! There is a lot of strategy too as everything must be timed according to fruit blooms and production times (eg. Make lots of cherry juice for popcicles/lollipops...also raspberry & blackberry jam at first to start your jelly beans ASAP).

Good luck Neen! The first part of the challenge is definitely the most fun, trying to juggle everything at once can be very stressful - but in a good way.

Is there any copies of this challenge that can be tried by lower level players?

I finally finished my candy & jam about a week ago but since I had done a few boats, i needed to wait to catch up to get all produced items back to 10 each. So yay I'm done. It kinda got annoying to wait for the candy machine so I would not reccommend candy crush mode if you're looking for *excitement*. As for the ore/bars/jewlery... Yeaaahhhh thats going to take a WHILE. The trouble is waiting for mining tool drops. Mostly my smelters sat idle while I waited...then produced one bar...then waited. So I'm going back to farming as usual while carrying out the jewlery part of the challenge as a seperate challenge. It was a lot of fun but now it's done!

I totally agree! The planning and crop juggling was the best part. Thanks for putting this exciting challenge together cheddarlimbo!
I def enjoyed it & highly reccommend to all. It's not as daunting as it seems so don't be afraid to bite the bullet and empty your barn. Your neighbors will thank you!

Hmm, not sure...perhaps the creator can weigh in on this?

I'd say go for it Modify the challenge to account for only the products and machines available to you.

I can't believe I just found out about this. I'm totally in, though it'll take some time to prep as I've got 10-20 of each tree/bush and maintain 30+ nectar bushes. I use a fair number for deco so they're fairly young trees right now.

I think I'll modify it a bit. Closer to rrammie's version of self-imposed worse than death ... I can't remember the label now but it sounds just about perfect. I'm going to add no axes or saws or expansion materials or diamonds to start, and only 100 coins (if that's the amount the game starts with - I'll check this). And I think a new rule: no dead plants allowed. Maybe I'll upgrade my barn once more too? It might be nice to start off with a round number. Wow, prep will take quite a while but I like it

Hey there! The original concept for this challenge was to keep higher level players busy with self-imposed restrictions since there were a lot of us that were getting a bit bored once we unlocked all the machines and food items.

That said, it is a completely informal challenge, and the rules I outlined were simply my own personal standard. I have always advocated that anyone choosing to do this or something similar should definitely tweak it to suit their needs. There is really no reason you can't adjust this to suit whatever level you like and with whatever goals you prefer to achieve.
