I know just how you feel, I have just started day 10, and think I will have enough for everything bar the candy and jams by the end of today - dairy and sauce machine chugging away right now. I'm doing metal illness though, and I think I will be ill by the end!!!
I made lots of extra items but found it difficult to get enough off the extra items in the variety needed to help with boat orders or to do my own truck orders so just ended up selling it.
I'm going to keep going, and just focus on expanding the barn and silo while I'm finishing off.

I bow to you all for even attempting it, let alone finishing!
I depleted my stocks yesterday doing 188 truck orders to go up a level to buy the final machine and that has left me feeling nervous, frustrated and a little helpless. Heaven knows how you've done this challenge, you brave people!!

Atlas, you've done a great job, and I don't blame you for bowing out. Congrats on your progress so far, and for getting as far as you did!
It's interesting, I was commenting to another person yesterday that the longer the challenge goes, the less fun it gets. Not because of the difficulty, but because of the monotony. You spend 6-7 days at a frantic pace and then... you wait? For two more weeks for the clock to run out? It's not ideal.
I agree with you that the first part of the challenge is really the most fun. Deciding which crops to prioritize, trying to quickly get enough food for your animals, etc. You have choices to make, and decisions actually matter. You have to plan out what to make and when a few steps in advance.
But once you fold in those long running items, it becomes less of a challenge. Of course you'll have enough cheese by the time you're "done" - it takes 20+ DAYS to make enough jelly beans and chocolate. In a way, those long running items actually remove some of the "pressure" of the challenge, and negate the value of any "score" that might be applied.
If (when) I do this again, I think I will do it with all items EXCEPT candy, and jams. I think someone can do 10 x of all of those in less than 6 days, but it will be an actual CHALLENGE as opposed to a long slog.
None of this is meant in any way to diminish the accomplishment others have already achieved! Any way you slice it, this is a tough challenge, and I am excited so many people are interested in watching and participating.
