You can use those! I don't see that as an unfair advantage, everyone had the same opportunity to collect items from the event that you did. The only thing I would consider out of order would be if you'd spent diamonds to speed up the fishing spots so you could fish more often. But that is outlined in the existing rules as a no-no.

For my part, it's just the Candy waiting now. I have approximately 49 and a half hours left and am scheduled to finish on 01/23/14 @ ~ 11:30 CST. I started at Midnight on Jan 1st, that will put my completion at 22 days, 11 and a half hours. I feel like I bungled the Candy machine a little bit, and could have done better to get some of the toffees and apples out of the way before the jams were ready for Jellybeans. But we're talking about shaving off maybe 6-10 hours at the most.

I've been doing a little Wheating, and making some basic items just to do SOMETHING on the farm, but I've mostly not been playing much the last few days while I wait for the last of the candy to drop.

I did not do the Metal Illness this time around. I've been making and selling bracelets this whole time and I think I could probably have made about 5 of each item if I'd not been Trucking them off for vouchers. I don't know how it is for everyone else, but I get a LOT of gold ore, and not nearly as much silver which slows my production way down.

phew!!!! good to know I can keep them- thank you :-) you're doing well - congratulations!!!!!! I'm trying metal illness and have got a few bracelets but the thought of getting 10 of each is fairly daunting- PLUS the extra 10 bars.........still I guess it will give me something yo work on while I'm waiting for the jelly beans......lol

I've been making all kinds of things to fill boat and truck orders. I hope that's ok. All my queues are full with over 10 each except jam candy and jewelry. I'm almost done the jam (I only have a couple apple jams left). I had to DO something or it would drive me crazy lol THAT and stocking up on sugars and dairy products. When this is done I should have a good pile of everything YIPPEE

no vouchers though... NOT ONE because I can't keep up with ore for the jewelry so don't have the chance to see them. I know what you mean about the silver ore though... I've hardly seen enough to work with from this challenge. I'm done bracelets now and working on diamond rings. I should have enough diamonds left when done to get Tom for 5 days though... and I swear I'm going to use him exclusively to get shovels lol

Sure that's no problem. You can make more than ten of whatever you want. Just take care you don't accidentally send off one too many sushi rolls!

    I hear you.
I have been sending out orders and doing a few easy boats and continually checking my numbers.
My biggest problem is platinum, that could take a long time. Silver coming out my ears.

I can't believe I'm actually CONSIDERING doing this! I've thought many times about completely emptying my barn and silo, but never actually completely cleaned house, lol. I'll have to mull this over a little longer, lol.

    Day 7

    Day 7

I'm coming to the end of my first week in an hour. As predicted the candy and jam machines are taking forever. Jewellery, not as bad as it could have been, my smelters have been running constantly for the last few days so I guess I'm about a quarter of the way through jewellery time wise, however the platinum isn't being that plentiful so I suspect that will slow the end down.

All the other manufactured products that use up other produced items are either made, or will be made over the next day or so. It's the items needing feta, cheese, cream and mayonnaise that are lagging. The last sushi item will be go into the queue in a few hours. Then it's a matter of building the primary goods up as well, 35 hours just to get all the sauces (the lack of mastery there is really noticeable), just under 27 hours for all the dairy items, and just the syrup for the sugar mill. Oh and the fish and lobsters too I guess.

Almost ready to expand the barn again so should be ok storage wise for the end point. I've started to do a few simple truck orders and have filled some friends' crates so normal Hay Daying is starting to trickle in.

Go on!!! You know you want to! While you're thinking about it, use up you young bushes and trees, then they won't take as long to clear if you do decide to do it.

    Question

    Hi Scorched Earth participants,
Well done, you guys are really trudging along. I wanted to know whether U had to sit down and do a lot of calculations/math before actually doing the challenge. Cos I am having nightmares of spreadsheets and hours spent calculating how many hours so and so product will take and then figuring out what products to start 1st etc...... Or do u just start producing the basics and then go along from there and keep double checking your inventory? I really really hate math
