Now jams will not be setting our finish time, and we can have a more racelike experience. So we are excluding candy, mining, jewelry, and limiting jams to 6 each.

We think lobsters and blue feathers and their products will be deciding factors for our race.

Our derby tasks have included milk production, mining (such a great task for us), help and fishing. I did a fishing task with only five lures built up, and it took me more than 28 hrs to build worms and catch the 103 lbs. of fish

    Happily yours, Barb
Best of luck! Please keep us updated. I'm very interested to see your progress and to see who wins!

After starting June 5, we all expect to finish our SEC tomorrow, June 15. Will let u know who wins! Each will have made approx 8 @ jams (we decided to limit jams to 6 each as part of the challenge). The gating items will be lobster first, and blue feathers second for this challenge, it seems. All three of us have continued to compete in the derby at a high level, with no problems. For the last derby we needed only nine tasks each, as our horse really outpaced the competition.

Very fun and stimulating! Our instigator reports that the most exciting part of the SEC was rebuilding the silo crops and starting up the production machines. I concur! It was very intensive for the first day or two. The last two days have been pretty much a waiting game.

Well, I've had a lot of fun doing this challenge previously, and I've spent some time considering and decided I'd like to try the Armageddon Mode outlined on page 64 (I might be a bit crazy ). It's been more challenging clearing out diamonds and vouchers than anything else, but I'm now prepared for this - just in time for the new update with two new crops, two new trees, two new machines, and the mysterious clue "23" which I think might be the number of new products added . If I'm right that's 230 more spaces needed in the barn, along with over 1,000,000 more coins needed for new machines. I have no idea how long this will take but I anticipate it'll take me through the summer months at least. To add to the challenge I'll even start with the new update (hopefully during the derby rest day). I hope to do weekly updates but we'll see how this plays out.

    Cheers all,
    Slightly Crazy

We finished! All three of us completed the S.E.C. we started 05Jun. Two completed 15Jun within an hour of each other, and the other person the next day. It was very close, very fun. What a relief it is over, whew! I plan to do it again down the road.

We had no trouble competing in the derby while scorching, as there were many tasks we could do. The main downside to me was that i couldn't help neighbors very much. But i could help with bread and popcorn! Lol.

Our critical machine was the lobster and duck trap maker in the fishing area. That machine worked nonstop! I do not recommend that you use this machine to make fishing nets, unless you really do not like fishing with lures, as the whole capacity was needed for ducks and lobsters. We fished with red worms and had no trouble catching all the fish we needed, including for derby fishing tasks, while setting our traps all along for the lobsters and ducks. Next was the sauce maker, and then the cake oven, as we had intentionally taken the jam maker out of the competition by limiting jams to 6 each.

Thank you to all who have done this, and who have posted your learnings. And to those starting, or thinking of starting, enjoy!

Congrats Bqbowers and team for completing your scorch, that's awesome!

And congrats 00becker for starting with the new update. And with Armageddon mode! Amazing!

I think I might join you in a few weeks time, for utterly ridiculous mode vs Armageddon mode. Have fun, I'll be watching your progress with interest over the coming weeks.
