I don't think we'll be adding a third village any time soon. As much as I would love to see space unicorns and cosmic cats, grinding away on 3 villages would become quite the chore. The creation of a new facet of gameplay would need some kind of unique driving force behind it.

We already created head to head PVP with the Builder Base. We have asymmetric PVP with the main village. While something like a 3rd village could be done similarly to how the Boom Beach Warships feature works, but if I were to just make an off-the-cuff guess, I would assume players would want an extension of the Main Village over a third village.
