I posted here because i will be directly affected by this change. It is likely i will not log onto my mini for 3 months (which i keep as leader). I started the clan a little over 5 years ago so losing control of the clan because i dont log onto my mini for 3 months seems like a devistatingly unfair situation. Tons of clans leaders use an inactive mini as a place holder like i do.

Possible solution for the tons of players using inactive mini as placeholders:

Starting 2 weeks before 3 months have passed, in clan mail an alert that leadership will be transfered in 2 week due to inactivity. With a countdown and repeated alerts in mail and chat (that green notification text).

A long and fair warning would alleviate many of my concerns.

the timer starts at day one with the update. you have 89 days time to login with your leader accounts and logout. that is enough to reset the timer.
why not simply moving the leadership to your active account or someone active you trust?

My main acct regularly joins one of our sister clans. It becomes inconvenient to hand off leader multiple times every day. Most of the long lived successful clan groups i know use this same method of mini as placeholder because they help manage multiple clans. Not because actual leader is inactive. But exactly the opposite.

Losing leader when some clans have been around 5+ years is a very drastic qol "improvement". A set of warning notifications seems fair enough to me.

    Yay an award!

Id like to thank my clan for always encouraging my whimsical analogies. Id like to thank all the updates for giving me something to always post about and create analogies for. And of course praise the almighty for making all this possible, SC.💐🎉

Its like winning an award for best attendance in a class i never took.

    Weirdest analogy.... like a fox.

While a notification would be nice so that people in this situation aren't affected, in the mean time you may want to think about an alternative work around. I suspect your main account is in the mini lead clan more often than every 90 days. You could switch to your mini when you join to give yourself co-leader again. Switching accounts only takes a few seconds and you would eliminate the 90 day issue until a notification system is created (if one is created).

Another alternative is to set a series of reminders using whatever smart device you play the game on for 75, 80, 85 and 89 days to remind yourself to “log into my mini to make sure it maintains leadership of my clan”.

But wouldnt that put responsibility on leaders to actually do work to keep 5eir clan? We cant have that can we?

Surely sounds reasonable to me. but see below reply.

On this note, surely it would not be too much trouble to Log in once per quarter and reset the timer?
cause I totally get the "Main" hopping around helper deal. and I have a mini stashed in my main's clan for when I leave there. I have a door keep that can accept/promote me when I go back and no one is online (UK based clan).

and I keep a Mini as Leader of the clan I run. but I am active on that acct = Donation Mule (old phone I can log into on WiFi)

    LOL apparently not.

IMO this isn't as big a problem as you seem to be cooking it up as. log in and reset the timer on your mini more frequently. simple and easy too.

Seems to me if you are constantly hopping from clan to clan maybe someone else should take over as leader anyway.
Pick a clan and stick with it.

I am working may way through, but will there be a way to see who is the Senior member? I have been in my Clan 4 years, been leader 4 times (and passed it back), but I can't recall if I ever left making someone else Senior. Seems likely the current leader thinks I should take over, but how do we know who it is?
