This seriously bugs me for a few reasons..... the leader was the one who build that clan from the ground up not those co leaders if a clan was that good I am sure a leader would promote a different leader while he was inactive. It just doesn't sit well with me that someone that didn't put in that effort can do whatever they want to your clan.

Actually, they cant do whatever they want with your clan. All youhave to do is either show up every 89 days or actually pass it on to someone else, entirely in your control. You choose not to do that, that becomes your own fault, you are giving it up by choice.

I disagree. A leader does not build a clan solely on their own. Every member contributes and if you take them out of the clan, what is left? A clan does not function without members and if a leader cannot be bothered to log on for 90 days, how much of a leader is he/she?

You can also say that a clan was built and maintained by all its members, elders and co leaders through the years and certainly not just a one (wo)man show of the leader. All the clannies through the years that have joined, played wars, clan games etc made that clan what it is. All of them contributed to the XP, the clan level the number of wars won, the CWL the clan is in etc.

In some cases the leader simply cannot just promote leadership to the next person and in the cases where they could have but simply walked away from the game without looking back well one could also say that if the leader stopped caring then why should the clannies be strippend from a clan they helped build, might as well have this system in place.

Let's look at a few cases of how leadership will be passed.

Case 1 - Leader has been inactive for 90 days. The system checks to see how long the Leader has been inactive. If they've been inactive for 90 days, it will give the Leadership to the next most senior Co-Leader. Seniority is determined by how long they've been in the Clan.

Case 2 - Leader has been inactive for 90 days, senior Co-Leader has been inactive for less than 90 days. Let's say the most senior Co has been inactive for 80 days. Like the above scenario, Leader will be passed to the most senior Co. But since the senior Co has been inactive for 80 days, since they are the new Leader, if they don't log on by the 90-day mark then Leadership will be passed again to the next senior Co.

Case 3 - Leader has been inactive for 90 days, senior Co-Leader has been inactive for more than 90 days. If the Leader is passed to a senior Co who has been inactive for more than 90 days, then the system will start counting 90 more days from when that Co became the new Leader. If the new Leader does not log on for 90 more days then Leader will pass to the next senior Co.

Regarding the 90-day inactivity. If you are a Clan Leader and do not want to lose your Leadership role, then all that's required to reset the timer is to log back into the game. Logging back in will reset the counter to zero and you'll have another 90 days before you have to log back in.
Gosh darn this is good news...our Leader been inactive for over 2 years...I can’t tell you how many times I’ve contacted SC about it to no avail. This just makes sense, if you’re done playing what claim should an acct have after a while...good work 👏👏

No decent clan with multiple different people as members was built by just the leader.

The leader will certainly have controlled the initial direction of the clan, and will have had a major influence on how it developed, but without the other members, it wouldn't have got far, not had whatever "spirit" it has.

And if the leader decides to stop playing entirely for three months (that is a quarter of a year), it doesn't seem unreasonable to assume they no longer wish to lead that clan, and allow somebody who is still active to take it over.

All you have to do to keep the leadership your clan is log in occasionally. Once every three months or so.

To anyone complaining that a bad co will become leader - A player should not be Co-leader unless they are fit to lead. Co-leader should be given to trusted, long-time members, not someone who gets max points in Clan Games once. If the co is inactive, he will eventually be replaced with another co.

Question - If there are no Co-leaders, does an Elder take over? What happens?

Wow, you sure you’re not from my clan lol.

Also, is there any official details about when exactly will the change happen— 3 months from the update or with the update release? I’m rooting for the latter.

It's been said that the 90 day counter starts the day the update goes live.

I don't quite get it, if you have a problem to login in 3 month, than you aren't really playing. If you are not playing, why do you even care to be a leader? An inactive leader can destroy clans. Don't be selfish and let other people enjoy the game. To stick to a leader position just to have the power over something you don't even care is not the way to go.
