Remember forum users represent only the tiniest fraction of the user base (less than 0.01%?), and a pretty biased sample at that. The overwhelming majority of the players of CoC fall into the "casual" players basket, those who cannot be bothered to take a game so seriously as to join a forum and comment about some game they play for a few hours now and then.
That some people are continuing to find good raids - well good on you and congratulations. No-one has said that such bases do not exist any more. However what people have tried to say is that for *them* such raids are so few and far between that it just isn't fun even trying to find them. Having a good run of bases to attack relies on a tremendous amount of *luck*, not skill! It doesn't matter what troop combination you have if as a maxed TH9 @ 1600-1900 trophies the result of 20 mins of pressing the next button is 99% bases < 60K gold, and the couple that were above 100K are fully maxed TH10's where the gold is spread around 4 storages requiring a 1 hour cook army to have a chance of getting!
Pressing next for such a long time is not a "challenge", it is just a dull (and expensive) waste of time. "Change your range" you say - "stuff and nonsense" I say. A bunch of people at the same trophy range in a clan are guaranteed to report a range of results from between "loot sucks" to "loot is good". Yes if you spend an extra 2-3 hours playing the game to move your range up 200 trophies then the law of probability says that with enough next button clicks you "might" stumble on something worthwhile at the right time of day on the right server. Then again as many of us have found you might not, it is all down to pure luck.
And I'm sorry but TH7s have no idea to be able to comment on what TH9s/10s have experienced over the last six months. While 300K per hour might sound good to you, at our level that is a joke for casual players who can only play a couple of hours a day but need 5m+ for each of the vast majority of the upgrades. Do the math yourself to figure out just how many hours of raiding that is - then factor in Supercell's loot change which means that the moment you log off rather than waiting an hour for your next army/spells to be ready you risk having a good chunk of that being taken away from you, with endless hog attacks in particular. Yes with a good base you can keep "most" of it, but every nibble of 100-200K from near full storages is ever increasingly difficult to make it back...
As for all the "put your storages outside" comments - I will be polite here and say you can get ****** (my own censoring). If that is the entire intelligent contribution you can make to such threads then quite frankly I refuse to oblige you.
The game just does not scale - for many of us the endgame is nothing more than a dull grind and SC have done nothing this year to do anything about it. One of my account clans at TH8 six months ago was just insanely active full of the most addicted players, we competed to complete skull walls, our trophy hunt as mostly TH8s resulted in a < top 140 global position, chat was insane, yada yada. Roll on since then with TH9-10 - I don't have the stats but the number of people still remaining from that time is a tiny fraction, as the reality of the grind and the lack of new content has taken its toll. Yes some die-hards still remain with their fire-walls and continuous online time but every week others continue to retire completely or play even less...
I don't have the magic answers - other than suggesting the game needs to add "something" if it wants to keep more people playing beyond TH8/9. However I can very much sympathise with people frustrated enough to post on these forums about the loot/quitting - despite the ridiculous fan-boy comments they will see in response as shown in this thread. For goodness sake people, open your eyes and ears for a change instead of just your mouth. Some of us have spent quite a bit of money on gems for trophy hunts etc because we thought the game was so good and entertaining for a while. We have enjoyed playing it, and want reasons to continue to do so. However just adding yet another level cannon/AT/tesla/wall level is *not* the answer. And so we fade away playing less and less, which makes casual raiding even more important to keep us playing at all - and thanks to the loot debacle even that is no longer worthwhile.
These are Supercell feedback forums - which should be open to all comments, good and bad about the game. If you don't agree with them, feel free to move on to another thread. The thread title was "I QUIT", that's a pretty good hint as to its content. Personally were I a game developer (or the management being reimbursed for keeping people playing) I would be desperately keen to know and understand why people are giving up playing my game, especially when doing so with great frustration as many are. Anywhere up to TH7 I was encouraging friends to try the game. Now I most definitely don't bother - because the ever diminishing returns from the precious real-life time this game vamps have not paid off in terms of ongoing enjoyment.
Anyways enough from me - queue yet more utterly pointless "but I got x per hour today" and "collectors outside" posts - you either "get it" or you don't...
