Ok , now do you read your iPhone or android phone TOS completely through ? First time or when there is an update. Come be honest. ............

Never mind those things, don't let them learn how to do real work like feeding the cows and chickens, or you better go round up the cows over at the neighbors.we really had to do that as kids and I learned how to chop wood for the wood stove when my kids where young and oh no they had to bring it in the house! Lol

I open my hood after Derby has started, close Saturday night. This allows ppl to join & participate during this time. It also allows us to evaluate them as a player we want to keep. If during this time they do not speak or participate, on Mondays after Derby I kick them with a message in place of my name.
Example: you ha been kicked out by: U Join & U Don't Speak!
Or whatever message that's needed to fit when kicking someone. I WANT them to know why I've kicked them in hopes they will change their ways for others...?

I have started a new hood. How do you screen a player that wants to join? So far I just hoped for the best.

This really is all you can do. I try to ask why they joined or what they didn't like about the last neighborhood they were in.
The first derby week is always rough with a new person.
Just state your rules and hope their silence means they understand and just for what ever reason don't chat. If something goes wrong, as it sometimes will just post a notification " ________ , you did/didn't ________, one of the major rules of the neighborhood says that is a must/ no no. I am going to kick you out on Monday unless I hear from you." If they are still silent or choose to not apologize or in some way acknowledge their misdeed. Boot and feel zero guilt.

I wonít risk our derby for a no speaking new join. When a new person joins, they must make contact. I explain our rules and make sure they are in full agreement. I also ask why they left their last hood to get an idea of any conflicting expectations. If everything seems to be in agree with our standards of play, we r good to go. It still provides no guarantee until you see their performance. But if you canít make contact before derby starts, thatís an automatic boot. Itís rude to join a hood and not even say hello. A serious red flag in my experience!

I accepted a new join a few weeks ago. It’s been a long time since we had anyone new and the name and high level got me curious.

she did not chat for 3 days and I was not expecting much? Why would a high level Indo farmer with lots of bling be looking for a new hood and why stumble on a quiet one?

anyway, she did chat a little and she does her thing. It’s working out so far.

I had the same. A husband and wife team joined, neither are chatty but they are always putting up helps for others when they ask. They both donate and both contribute to the derby. Her more than him but still they seem to be good.

We have kids in our neighborhood, my nephew who does NOT chat, my daughter who will chat your ear off if I let her. We have a few from other countries who are embarrassed of their language skills so they are pretty quiet as well.
Not chatting doesn't make you a bad bet. The only sure way to judge is how they do in the derby, neighborhood request and how they show up when people ask for things.
