So I am curious after reading these posts, what do top teams spend to speed up the taskboards ?

Do you have a calculation, or do you not speed boards ?

Our team never speeds boards, we just aim for 300 to 320 tasks and everyone pitches in deleting tasks.
But one time we had a player join who constantly sped up the board to get their task. We found this quite odd since we are not a competitive hood, we just try to stay in champions league with all horseshoes.

So I assumed those top leaderboard hoods sped up the boards.

You can speed up the task board with diamonds, but none of the NHs I know do that. We just keep deleting every 30 mins with fingers crossed

We have 140+ golds and hover around #50 on the leaderboard, so we don’t really qualify as a top leaderboard hood. However we don’t expect anyone to speed the leaderboard or burn diamonds to complete tasks. Of course some people do use diamonds to speed boats, or occasionally to ‘even up’ the task board, but apart from the extra task there’s no requirement to spend diamonds. We do have solid strategy for different Derbys, we do prep when we need to, and we do have great teamwork and work hard to get up to 30 players through 10 big tasks. We derby hard with a big hood, try and win gold, and leaderboard position is a nice bonus for us

The really top leaderboard teams go to great lengths to ensure a full 30 opted in to maximise their size bonus (yes size matters). The may also have complex strategies on points thresholds to minimise trashing, and may also use task blocking to manipulate the task board in their favour to get more 320’s with less trashing. Undoubtedly some of those teams also burn a lot of diamond on the task board or things like speedboating. Some do also have a very regimented system of prep, task allocation etc to maximise their leaderboard score. I have also heard of complex trashing strategies being utilised. FairPlay to their dedication, it must take an inordinate amount of coordination and management, but it’s not a style of play I would enjoy personally.

Ok, I would guess then that the lower 320s is supercell wanting to push teams to spend more diamonds pushing them to speed boards.

And many teams will have no problem doing that, I mean at higher level what do you spend diamonds on ? I use the helpers, tom, and speed things if needed. (Level 145 ) So supercell is saying speed the board with diamonds, that is your option. A 10 diamond extra task might not do it anymore, nor stacking.

I guess you have to see if speeding the board is the new requirement to stay on top.

I would like to see other diamond spending options, extra tasks, booster buys, etc.

Maybe the drop rate improves if you speed the board ?
Maybe you win because you get 320 options faster than other teams?

There are reasons I could see supercell doing this. And that is why in mystery and blossom derbies our team does the best. But regular derbies, they will be weeding out the true "top" teams.

My guess is bingo did not make good money so B I N G O is in the doghouse.......

I think bingo is minimal because they want to delay people begetting the achievement complete, keep people playing - as indicated by SmallChange’s motivation for staying in the champions league earlier in this thread.

Getting 320 options faster than other teams can also be achieved by being well prepared, completing tasks quickly, and not blocking certain task categories. A lot of players I have know in the last 4 years have believed that burning diamonds to turn the board over actually worsens task drop in the long run - this isn’t substantiated by hard evidence that I have seen and is more anecdotal observation.

I’m sure you’re probably right that this is all about diamond spend, we have noted a much higher incidence of boat tasks when we do get 330’s of late. It seems like people’s impatience alone makes them rush boats and spend diamonds more so than on other task types.

If being a top team is only about diamond spend, then so be it, though I won’t ask it of my hood for sure - if anything our response to recent Derbys has been to spend less diamonds as a push back. Certainly there are a lot of complaints from smaller hoods that for solo or very small hoods burning diamonds is the only way to win gold, so diamond spend to win goes well beyond the few top teams on the leaderboard. Despite that id always felt that’s only a very small proportion of players within the game so if that’s the motivation for miserly derbies I think it will backfire by driving a lot of players away from the game. I know of a number of long term players who would spend diamonds steadily on the game generally who have just got frustrated with the game and stopped playing of late, and a lot more who’s love for the game has waned and are considering the same with all the perceived problems at the moment with the game and the derby.
