    Whats happening now:

By now it should be quite obvious that the vast majority of players outside of TH10 are very unhappy for good valid reasons, the same reasons that some TH10 are gloating over with their "TH10 is king and suppose to rule policy." It has now become almost impossible for TH9 and below to make the necessary big upgrades unless staying in game for extended periods of time. This is because TH10 are now able to take big chunks out of a TH9 savings and hide them behind their way stronger defense where revenge is impractical. A TH9 would also hestitate to attack a TH10 for possibly getting a small reward while inviting a painful revenge. The result is the current trend of attacking downwards all throughout the game.

    Predictions:

In time, more and more people below TH10 will change their playing style to adapt to the changing environment. People only do small upgrades like walls when they play for short sessions, while doing their bigger upgrades only when they have time to log on for an extended periods. As the number of people who changes style grows, the result is that big loots start disappearing from the searchable pool because they start to exist only when the players having them are online which is unsearchable. People who don't change style and played like before will have more and more people searching for them as more people changes playing style since there are lesser and lesser good targets. These people will be forced to adapt (unless they quit). Eventually everyone catches on and there will be no loot in the game for all at TH9 and below as people have to settle for attacking at lesser and lesser as more players adapts.

This effect will first happen at TH9 and below, and eventually there will be no loot at TH9 and below and TH10s will finally find incentive to attack one another since they have been gloating and unadapted. And eventually TH10s are also forced to changed their playing style and there will be no loot in TH10 as well. The final result over time is that there will be no loot throughout the game. And the game becomes absolutely unfun and drifts away into oblivion like most great app games that has come and gone.

It is already happening now at TH9 and below. TH9 and below people who feel this update is bad and your voices unheard, fret not. Unless SC do something about it, the effects will ultimately affect everyone. In the meantime just adapt and play while the game while it is still playable. Do the large upgrades sooner if you can, because the adapting mentioned earlier is only a temporary solution. In future you would have to stay online for even longer periods as the loot shrinks. Same goes for TH10 who are gloating away. Anyway, when it has come to that point where there is no loot universally that's the endtimes of coc because it just wouldn't be fun anymore. And playing is all about fun. Not loot, not "progression" but fun. loot and progression are secondary matters that don't matter anymore if the fun factor is removed.

Such a sad thing that it has been proven yet again that no great app game stays great forever and they will have to make way for the next fun app to appear.
I think I have to say sorry to you braddeller, I rubbished your post then lost 2 million res in a day, now I will start to use a builder to upgrade walls as soon as the gold is available.

I was stubborn and really wish the game hadn't taken this turn, but it has. Now I will hide my gold in the wall and stop even trying to save up for big upgrades, I think I'm seeing more and more players doing this now.

I truly hope your right in what you said about SC having to do something to fix the problem although doesn't look like Super Steve's latest post on the loot patch is heading in that direction.

    All the best

That wouldn't be a big concern because businesses put their takings above everything else. For now the report should be good since more people should be starting to use gems to complete their large upgrades that were just short of a little gold (didnt have to before) so that they can log out and not be the fat turkey everyone is searching for. The game killer is a silent killer that this game becomes not so enjoyable and over time less people will play it and that means less buying of gems. That will be when the powers that be starts to sit up and listen. I just hope it won't be too late then.

I appreciate this post from a higher TH who can see beyond the immediate gains for TH 10s and who can see the general quick decline in the over all game as a result.

Much like in society, the ones who go unaffected care little about those who are suffering. Like a microcasim of life, maybe you will care when it directly affects you. Great leaders, societies and, yes, even games that can see the greater good tend to prosper the most, until they cease to exist at all because one day there is no one left to fight for you and your needs...

Hey no worries man, I'm glad you are an adapted player! I'm sure you will win in life because you are adaptable to the environment whether in a game or real life!

What you see now is what us th10's had to deal with for so long that i almost quit myself.

By the way, th10's are my priority cause 400k is obviously better than 350k. But If I find a th9 then I won't pass it.

Ps the system isn't fixed yet. We have been asked to be patient.

Also to those of you sinking your gold into walls... Were waiting for you to let go of your blanket
Excellent post buddy. Exactly feeling same way.

Loot wasn't a big problem as long as it can be gained faster than you lose it (in a normal casual gaming style not staying in game constantly for hours). It was slow progression yes, but don't all high levels in any games have to "grind".? It is perfectly normal in any game that it gets harder to upgrade as you go higher.. it wasn't a "punishment for progression" as widely touted. A punishment for progression would be a case whereby if you go higher you start to lose battles to lower levels but that was far from what was happening.
It was the impossibility to upgrade that is happening now, which has caused people to adapt to a new less fun playing style as mentioned. As predicted, the loot drying up has moved higher as the th9 towns have dried up. Weaker th10 is now drying up since stronger th10s would be finding the most loot with them.

You assume that most players are discplined and rational.

But your assumption is only valid to a certain degree, since the existence of inactive bases proves otherwise.

The presence of inactive bases proves nothing except that people are leaving. I hope it is not my imagination that I have been seeing more inactive bases recently.

Adaptation is not only for the rational. It is how all life works. In nature animals that refuse or fail to adapt gets eliminated, likewise in this game.

Its an interesting analysis. Its not complete, however.

The economy exists largely on collectors. Some gemming, but the majority of loot is created by collectors, which is a function of time and collector level. There will always be good raids as a result, unless SC turns off collector production.

I'm not concerned about acquiring loot. It's been as good as ever for me.

The major change in the update has not addressed attack, but defense. More loot available from storages puts a bigger strain on the base. Design, upgrades and walls have become much more important than ever.

What can be done? First, make sure you are using a quality base design like Loaded Die. This doesn't overcome low level defenses, but your probability for success is much higher.

Make sure you are in an appropriate trophy level for farming. Don't complain about getting hogged 6 times a day trying to maintain 2500. Drop down to a realistic level where 99% of attacks are TH snipes. You don't have to be the hero until the trophy push. I usually hang 1000 trophies from my max push and love farming. Your clan should understand, if they don't, find a good farming clan, they will understand!

Next, max your defenses asap. These are ultimately what keep farmers away. Its much easier to hit a base with level 1 xbows and level 5 mortars and wiz towers than level 3 xbows and level 7 mortars and wiz towers.

Lastly, get the walls as high a level as you can stomach before upgrading TH. I want level 10 walls before going to TH 10, but realistically, its not practical for me.

If people fail to adapt for the new loot system, I believe frustration will grow and abandoned bases will become more prevalent. Poorly upgraded bases will be available for collector farming, as they seem to be increasing now.

    Good luck!
