[Project] Let’s build a trap base

    Test base #2

    [x] Symmetry
    [x] Triangular splash
    [x] Triangular air defense
    [x] Pentagonal point defense coverage
    [x] Proper junctions
    [x] Looks good
[v] The only trophy base that can win against maxed lvl6 armies in lower Crystal for early TH8
    [v] Somewhat protected DE

This base was thoroughly tested for two weeks in range 2000-2400 by an early TH8 player (all defenses TH7, save for the mortars).
If left alone, it will go up to ~2300 cups and stay there (you have to refill your cc and pay re-arm costs though)
Im gonna use this as inspiration, my old design (up here) lost 9/11 of my defences. It is very weak against balloonion and hogs. BARCH will get to th if used good, and giant heal will get 50%.

Yeah, it's problematic to design TH8 trophy base, because 50% is so easy.

In this design, I've taken measures to avoid 1-star losses where possible. I keep squishy buildings close to the core, and more beefy buildings on the perimeter.

Yeah it's a good design, studied it a bit and found out that the NW point is more for taking out hogs and the bottom one for other attacks. But my concern with this is that when hogs come from the other side they wont be stopped so easy as when they come from to NW. Well i'll have to give it a go, as my former one was terrible on defences.

You can't win every attack no matter how good the design is. The good news is that you don't have to.
1 win nets you the same amount of trophies that you loose for 3 1-star losses in a row.
Thus, too keep net positive on trophies, you have to win some attacks, and minimize the damage for those you can't win.

The base in post #1 is by no means perfect, but it has some good ideas to build upon.

Here are some tips on designing successful trophy base:
If you are aiming for the range 2000-2300, you can gain trophies from Giant+BARCH armies, as they are dominating in that range, and easiest to manipulate.

-Separate meat shields from DPS troops. You'll be surprised with the results.

-Use your traps in the most effective way, aim to use all the traps for every attacks, not 1/4. It is better to lose 2 stars on one attack and win one, than lose two 1-star attacks because your traps were spread out evenly.

-Take extreme care of your Wiz tower position. Make sure that tanks will not be destroyed for free. Don't rely on self tank, surround it with tanks and place it 1 tile deeper. Ideally you want BARCH to move past the tower, so the tower will attack BARCH from the side. See this vid for a good example: (well-placed lvl4 wiz tower absolutely destroys huge chunk of lvl6 BARCH #5).

-Do not let the attacker to get any buildings for free. Keep builders huts in the safe place.

-Centralized CC is your best bet. CC unlurable by wall breakers and giants IS A MUST.
Ideally you want cc that is absolutely unlurable/untestable by Giants, WBs, Hogs and Balloons. See #233 for an example.

-ugly/stupid looks is actually an advantage

-low level walls is an advantage too. You want to look weak to attract weaker opponents and gain cups from their fails.

Almost maxed out (only 5 archers at level 9 and teslas at 4, everything else maxed), got 10 attacks, won 2, the other attacks got 2 starred, they never attacked me from southwest.. (2000-2100) i tried this. I tried another design and i got to 2400+.

The base looks like the kind a premmie would use but it works ok. I guess it's better to look weaker than you really are lol
