Communication is the key

In my humble opinion, to be successful in CWL, you need to be able to communication with your clan mates (at least CWL participants) efficiently. Unfortunately, as we all know, the in-game clan chat is not good enough for this. We were lucky that Discord was already a requirement for our clan and we had all participants in Discord. It does not have to be Discord, but you need to get ALL participants to an external chat application to coordinate hits, etc. (more on this later) This is especially more difficult for an international clan like us due to time difference. However, we survived; so I am sure you can as well.

While I would agree that Communication is indeed key, and that an external communication platform can be advantageous, I don't believe that :-

Every clan has it's different dynamics and priorities. I'm very fortunate that I have a number of trusted Co-leaders across all time zones, and I trust them (and our Elders too) to make clan decisions without my consent.
Players can ask advice in chat, and receive help at almost any time.

Don't get me wrong, if your clan is willing and comfortable using exterior communication platforms like discord, then best of luck to you, but this is not for everyone, and one could argue, that 'goal congruence' within your clan is far more important than discord!

The other 35 get the medals for each war win; they don't get the star medals (because that goes to the person earning the stars). And the bonuses the leader hands out at the end: you can give those to anyone in the 50. But there's only a limited amount of those, so if you give some to the other 35 that means someone in the 15 missing out instead.
