Which makes it seem very likely it is destruction.

Agreed, at the end of the day, once the dust settles and folks migrate to their natural level, I expect draws to be a fairly rare thing regardless. How they handle it really doesn't matter that much in the big scheme of things.

People have been mentioning an extreme example of including all TH8s for the first week of CWL, and then going full bore with TH12s next week. What about the possibility of bringing your strongest TH11 and down team for this week (decent tier placement), and then bring in your TH12s next month?

Would CWL still work if it matched based on defense strength of top 15? In the top 15, that will be matched on their Town Halls?

Might be better to base initial seeding on defense weights since you need to drop all buildings.

How does clan war leagues work from month to month? Does it reset? What happens if I were to run a roster of TH3s one month and TH12s the next or vice versa?

Honestly I think your plan is "better" unless you are just in for rewards (and even then placing too low at the beginning won't benefit you). Starting with th11s and bringing the 12s later will be a good option regarding rewards. And you won't be in boring wars for about a year like you would, if you started with only th8s.

It seems to me that the bulk of the rewards come from winning, and getting to a tier where I lose half will not be very lucrative. One of those big charts seems to confirm that: better to win more a league down. The hard part is staying where we win 6 wars.

I am not convinced that the point of stability will result in an average of 3.5 wins. Maybe over years, averaged together, but not necessarily over the next 6 months. What I want to avoid is getting stuck in a rut where we win 0-2 wars but can't drop because two other clans in our group of 8 are even worse. In the mixed middle tiers this might be common because of clan lineup changes.

I think getting as high as we can and maintaining is not going to maximize our long term rewards, unless we someday get good enough to be in a top tier and consistently win a lot.

Our short term strategy is going to be not inflating our league at first, and trying to inflate our capabilities faster than other clans via strategically rushing alts.

One other suggestion for individual CWL rosters, and Clan leadership.
Unless you're a super active leader who has the time to coordinate everything (not me!), it's could be really beneficial to get your Co-leaders on board with actively helping with individual roster choosing.

It might be worth appointing individual CWL generals ( any leader) for each CWL, who's main responsibility is to assign each daily roster, and co-ordinate strategy. Depending on your clan make up, this could change each month.

In other words, ask for, and get help from others within your clan!
