Some interesting , and valid points made in this thread.

Is there an objective conclusion? Only that it's a personal decision.

Going back to Sparky's original post, he used the words "what is annoying me"...
This is evidence enough that higher trophy levels just don't suit his lifestyle and activity levels, regardless of other players own personal preferences.

And I can empathise with this fully, as I personally didn't enjoy being up in Champs League+ myself , as a relatively casual player managing 1,2,3 attacks a day during the week (Mon-Fri), because I felt it was hindering my progression.
Personally I find my current progression on both my accounts (big TH11 and early TH10) just fine down in circa Crystal 3.

To summarise, if you are having fun and progressing how you wish, stay as you are, but if you're not...make some changes!

You are contradicting yourself. Like others have said, trophy pushing isn't for casual players (eg they get on a few times a day, maybe several days, or here and there every couple of hours). Of course, that means your definition of casual is not the same .. umm.. everyone else's definition. So you may need to think of yourself as not really a casual player..maybe somewhere in the middle, if you also don't think of yourself as a hard-core or dedicated player.

Would have to somewhat disagree with OP here, from my experience at least. As a casual player, maybe a couple of attacks a day on average (sometimes more, sometimes none), I have currently somehow just 'floated' up to Titan 3 over the last couple of weeks with my max TH10 base without really specifically trying to attacking for trophies.

Although casual play has been more tough since Dec 2015, it is definitely not impossible ... for higher level THs at least. I guess if you wanted to push higher than Titan though, it would be a different kettle of fish due to the infamous clouds issues.

The ladder in here doesn't support casual players as it has a more time based than a skill based structure.
