I would not recommend trophy pushing if casually playing. If you like trophy pushing and you want to continue, make sure you always have defensive clan castle troops and take clan castle troops on your attacks. Also, make sure your base is designed as a war base.
I personally prefer crystal and fun though, after all, fun is the very purpose of the game

OP,i think it is just you on this. If you need help from experienced clashers here, all you have to do is ask and i am sure they are more than willing to help you achieve your goals. No need to make sweeping generalizations.

I think you've probably laid out a pretty good argument for this. And why not? It's fun. That's what reinvigorated the game for me.

I can see why you'd say this, because the title does sounds like a commentary for all casual players, but I found the substance of the post to be just about the OP. Sparky692006 is no longer enjoying the experience and doesn't feel it fits his/her particular playing style. That's understandable. What's nice about Clash of Clans is there isn't any one given way to play it and we can all set different goals for ourselves.

I've run into the same issue up in champs 1 trying to push to titans. I only get offered 1-11 trophies per attack, but if I lose an attack I lose 30-40 and when I'm attacked the attacker gets 15-20 trophies. It's basically impossible to push up to titans without spending hours playing constantly.

I am low in legend and it takes roughly 3 attacks to get the cups back that I lost. 3 attacks is roughly 20-30 minutes actually playing clash. When I am in the clouds I do something else. Especially in the weekend there are a ton of things that I can do while I am in the clouds. I hardly watch TV while some people literally spent hours per day watching TV.

I wouldn't even say "casual" (as I take the term to mean) goes with "champs" even. Log off, get hit, lose cups. That starts in champs. No hours waiting to get attacked from champs and on up.

Casual is silver and gold and even crystal.

Trophy Pushing is not for "casual" players. But it certainly is for those who can "time manage" well, regardless of how hectic their life is.

Everyone has a life. Some choose to spend it drinking at the pub and playing poker machines, others choose other activities, but just because they are not Your interests and they manage their time differently to you, doesn't mean they don't have a life @Sparky692006

Upon finding out I don't drink alcohol, a guy at work asked me, "you don't drink? what do you do for fun?" and he seemed totally bewildered. His drinking interests are not mine, and my interests are not his and are not "fun" to him. We each "have a life". They just involve different interests.

    Not sure.

I climbed in trophies for a while, but I wouldn’t say I “pushed”, unless just paying attention counts as pushing. ?

What I mean by that is I just tried to yes, as someone said, use my cc troops.
I looked for bases offering 20 or more (or 15 if it got that bad) that I knew I could get 2 stars on.
If I needed loot, I stopped fussing about trophies and took the first high loot base I saw with a reachable town hall or easy 50%.

The only difference for me was before when I was loot farming, I’d go with cheap armies and take a loss on a base if it had loot. When climbing, I made sure to get that star.

So what I’m trying to say is that for me, it felt pretty much the same as my everyday causal play.

*(Of course I wasn't trying to end up on some leaderboard somewhere and didn’t get high enough to have serious clouding, so it might be different the next time around. Depends where you’re starting from and how far you go, I suppose. But I think going up in trophies can be done on a fairly casual basis—to a certain point, anyway.)

    Thanks TerM!

Got kinda worried snooks might be gf, but seems there's no gf in the set-up so she is absolutely confirmed.

Hgh trophs is best place for casuals. Lots of loot, easy shield management, etc... Just farm and proceed naturally. Trying to push is not really the casuals cup of tea. Stop worrying about trophs and farm with War Armies. It's much more fun, and you will progress.

I was going to multi quote Klavious, Mattyboo and 2222.

I am a Wife/kids (one in college now, whew!) full time Job and IRL social life clasher.

I have 4 accts (two real active) and I run a clan. I am as casual as it gets. I just pushed to Legends on my main cause I stopped intentionally 'losing' matches in August. I run a HogWiPe army and its pretty great farming army for Titans/Legends. I even see gains for Dark despite my army costing over 5K Dark.

the main thing hurting me right now is when I do have time to play the clouds sap my would be attack/loot options. I rarely skip a base now cause I just want to hit something after extended clouds.. ANYTHING! luckily the bonuses make almost all bases worth a shot if not pure overkill. being in Legends had made my wall grind a ton easier, so I want to stay; but I don't get a lot of bases. some of this was due to the last CGs and the events at the same time.. so I am hopeful this week will offer me more bases when I have time to clash this week..

about the pushing aspect. It is an Ebb and Flow situation. I don't track loss of loot, or trophies, and like you I do about 5 raids a day on my main unless I have time to boost (maybe 1-2 times a week). I do enough attacks on my active alts to get my star bonus and do a War-Farm hits in the clan I run.. this is normally 2-3 raids on those alts to get my star bonus and fill my treasury and keep the Lab lights burning... builders I don't fuss over...

One thing of note, Champs 1, and Titans 1. (T2 to a lesser extent) these are hot beds for trophy distribution. you can get and lose A LOT of trophies in one go in these regions. once I accepted this part of the equation I just did my part on offense. Hogs are every bit as good as BoWitch IMO and slightly cheaper, yes the learning curve is steeper cause its not as Spam friendly as BoWitch can be.. but its good for me, my sched and most importantly my FUN.

As others have eluded to: with the advent of CGs and magic items; progression is on FF in terms of QoL and how much I raid. and now in legends Loot is everywhere, if I can get some bases to smack. last night I searched the night away. stinks but I know the cloud problem in Leggy even before I went up and again; I am not 'pushing' per say, just attacking like I normally do in my window to clash cause I am casual.. and living proof that farming high works for my play style to get loots and not mash all day long.. raid and refill and go on about my day/afternoon/evening.. casual.
