Not complaining, but after waiting for a week now, this upgrade is still a huge miss. I am almost max TH 9, good layout I believe (told and evaluated), was fighting between Crystal 1 and Master 2 (prior to upgrade).
The biggest reason this upgrade was a miss is the game in itself. Are we really saying that we are not able to come up with an equation that allows for fighting/win progress as well as loot/build progress?
I loved the idea of the league system, that is what we should have worked on/perfected/changed/continued to build on. It injects resources in to the game. It promotes actual progress in the game. Rewards winners. Great on so many levels. Even though it had more tuning and work to get it perfected. Instead we end up with:
Over the past week, so many players have told me "put the townhall on the outside". I did. I dropped from 2400 trophies down to 1400 and put my th on the outside. And yes, I wasn't attacked so much (or i got free shields). Somewhat less loot but that is expected and OK but yes, I am able to save more.
But, are we really saying this is the solution? In other words, forget about a fighting game? Forget about winning as it is BAD to win. Forget about progressing upwards? (unless you gem the whole thing). Is this what the game is? Nothing but a farm game with no other objective than 5 months of fighting the same person (same trophy level) for the same loot so we can upgrade one cannon one more level? one more AT to lvl 11?
We have taken away all incentive to progress upwards. Actually, forget about incentive, it is counterproductive as you are being slaughtered and extremely hard to save up 5 million for an AT11 upgrade (unless you gem or stay online for a looooooooong time) when you get in to Crystal/Master as TH9.
League system options (and I know it is not perfect the way it is now):
Significant more loot win for 3 star win. Some more for 2 star.
Higher reward (loot reward increases 10% for consecutive wins).
Penalty for dropping on purpose keeping people in the range they should fight (9s fighting 9s, 10s fighting 10s, etc).
Reward for getting to next league. Penalty for dropping below.
Reward for progression within the league.
10% more loot from people you fight when you advance one league.
These were just coming to mind as I was typing and not saying they are good or bad. BUT, there is so much we can do with the league system making the game a fighting, where winning is GOOD, type of solution.
