A comparison between the old and the new loot system: Influence on TH 7 - TH10

I'm a TH8 player. Before the update I had almost maxed out my gold and elixir storages, which I need for the expensive upgrades of tesla, archer towers, and the upgrades in laboratory. In the past 2 days from the update, I am completely ripped off. The moment I log out I get attacked from TH9 and loose 250k+ from gold and elixir, plus the 1500+ dark elixir. Even after the continuous ripping off, I have 2,5 mil gold and elixir, but still loose 250+ from every attack. There is no way I can maintain my resources to be able to make the necessary upgrades.

Probably in the next couple days I will completely stop the upgrades and logging in the game, and wait until I can have a full free day in which I will try to collect gold or elixir for even one upgrade. I have paid for this extra worker, and now I cannot get even the other workers to make any upgrades. Of course the golem and valkyries upgrades, seems like a big joke for a th8.

Even though my walls are maxed out and my weapons are almost maxed out except 2 teslas (lvl5) and 3 archer towers, I have a pretty decent setup, I still cannot have any chance to defend against even the lousiest th9 players, since with 270+ elixir bonus anyone with 10 dragons, or 30 balloons and some spells can completely rip me off, and still have earning. There was a threshold for the elixir earned in each attack for the th9 against th8 (190 earned elixir) which now is completely overpassed. No one has to have any strategy, since even if you close your eyes and throw dragons, or balloons, or a bunch of 20-25 giants lvl6 and some rage spells, you have a 3-star victory, against a th8.

I cannot upgrade to th9 since there is NO WAY to collect the 6mil elixir for the giant upgrade, and the only viable solution is to log in once every 15-20 days, on some of my completely free day to try to gather the 2.5 mil gold or 2.5+ mil elixir.

For a good th7 player with dragons (lv2) and some rage, the output loot is 300k+ and is still a very good solution with plenty of earnings. Until now I didn't have any attacks from th7, but it seems in the future there's gonna be plenty of it.

This is a sad day for one of my beloved games.

P.S In all the attacks in the castle I had 6 wizs (lvl 5) or 1 dragon(lvl3) and 1 wiz (lvl6), or 5 balloons lvl6. None was able to defend against any combination of th9.

Place your town hall outside, outside any defensive building coverage, and don't trap it!

Once you get a shield, don't break it until you can attack several times.

Well, I don't really know what the point of this change was supposed to be, but it's definitely got me thinking. All the insta "loot is destroyed forever" people seem to forget that the abandoned bases are only a couple days away, just be patient. I don't personally like losing the bonus for attacking higher level th, if they had raised the available loot (IMO a very good call) but also kept the bonus for attacking up I'd have been thrilled. That said, I am going to wait and see, as this doesn't kill the game, it just changes it, and I'll do my best to adapt, no one can say you aren't keeping the game alive at least!

Me too i am also waiting for the game to fix itself but atm i am quiting cause i cant profit much from raid and actually i am losing more than i gain. If the game doesnt fix iteself after a week and a half... well too bad clash of clans will lose its players.

Of course I have it outside, and even with one barb someone can get it, but there is no time to get a shield. As soon as I log off I get attacked by th9s. Until now I have been attacked by 34hogs(lvl5)+3spells+king+queen, 22 baloons (lvl6)+53 minions (lvl5) + 2 spells, 28 balloons (lvl6)+....+ 3 spells, 20 giants(lvl6)+....spells, queen etc, 7 dragons lvl3+spells+queen. None of the above was revenge, attack and in every single case I had a great castle defence. In almost all case there is no way to revenge back cause the villages are almost perfect, and I have no chance of getting anything back.

For the moment I just stopped the game and wait for the shield to end. One solution I have thought of, is to put near the th a gold storage, so some player will just give me shield for 100k gold.

If this update is a strategic movement from supercell to make it almost impossible to play after th8 without huge amounts of gems, then its better to come out and inform us, to find ourselves another way of entertainment. I have paid about 15 euros to the game, but I feel quite stupid after this update.

maybe I'm the only one, but now coc is lots and lots of fun since the update.

You sir are full of it. I'm a nearly maxxed th8 & there's nothing out there. Maybe I can save enough elixir to que lvl 6 giants when my forced th9 upgrade complete :/.

Let's not forget that a th8 player who has maxxed troops cant even 3 star anoter decent th8 player with 3 spells & hoping he's got a terrible design. The defense vs offense is terribly unbalanced but it was always ok since there was a lot of loot. I made it to nearly maxxed th8 in 3/4 months on the old system now it'll probably take that long to save up for lvl 6 troops LOL

There is only one way to play now if your TH8 and TH9, and that's spend everything you got before you log off. You shouldn't play if there's no builder available and use up your resources. No builder ready, don't play.

I am a lvl9 town hall and after the update I had 6 mil in elixir storage. Over the night I lost close to 1 mil because it looked so good to anyone with a th10. Got attacked 4 times and the last one finally gave me a shield after my resources were raped.


Since then I used up all my elixir and leave about 200k gold in storage. Last night I got 4 defends from people dropping 1 barb to drop down in trophies.

The only reason to stay at TH9 now is to go after TH8. They have a better percentage of resources that can be stolen and lets face it, to get an extra 50k from a loaded TH10 isn't going to happen. TH8 has no xbows and wasn't given a lvl3 inferno tower that can eliminate troops in seconds. The whole premise that you can steal a higher cap from TH10 is a joke. This update makes you prey on the weak.

Therefore the only way the weak can survive is leave nothing in storage. Steal for an upgrade, put any excess on walls and leave nothing.

This is the smart way to play and then maybe the update won't look so good to TH10. Supercell wants us all to leave millions in storage and then everyone will like the stealing. Lets face it, that makes no sense to anyone playing the game. So spend everything you got!

The only problem with this is that TH10 will find the game unplayable, but who cares.
