Question Change to recent war performance factor in matchmaking?

We recently noticed to get matched with clans that have a *lot* of red lines in their war log. These clans do not even try in war and do a few attacks. It happened twice in a row now. Before that we always matched with clans that were at least on par skill wise with our clan.

Anyone else notice sudden match ups with these kind of clans?

Has something changed in the recent war performance factor or is the factor reset or something?

Edit: To be clear, the match-ups themselves look fair

    What's your typical roster breakdown?

Our recent win rate has been about 50% to be honest, and we tend to match similar clans. It's as if many of the clans with our kind of roster, are winning and losing, but seeing fair wars. We tend to run TH12 (4-6) down to TH9 in 20v, or 15v.

most of the clans we match are on 0-5 win streaks. the 0-1 win streak clans tend to be only 50-60% win rate where as the 5 streak or more clans are usually around 75-80%. either way, if recent performance was truly a huge factor i don't think we would be matching either groups of these clans so consistently.

i agree with your edit, our matches look fair on paper but for some reason the enemy seems to just give up or not even try as hard as their log shows that they may have in previous wars.

We never seem to match clans that just give up.....

I guess our reputation precedes us

Yes, although not just recently - it's seemed like that for a couple of months or more.

Back early last year in the days of engineering, win streak seemed to have a dramatic impact. We had one run to about 27 or so, and from 20+ it was brutal. 4 of those wars were outright unwinnable against hugely engineered clans - although we survived 3 of them through a mix of stunning incompetence from our opponents, guessing how they attacked and customising all our bases in prep day just for them, some hail mary TH10 v max TH10 (or higher!) triples and sheer dumb luck. All the opponents at that point had win streak >=10. Once we lost one we then got 2 or 3 totally hopeless opponents in a row, all on 0 or 1 win streak.

Recently we've had some win streaks of 20+ again, and it's not uncommon to have a situation where we have 20+ win streak, 47-3 or thereabouts log and an opponent with 0 win streak and 25-25 or worse log.

Has something changed in the recent war performance factor or is the factor reset or something?
It looks to have no real effect now. That could be because it's been removed; or its contribution to the MM has been dialled down so far that it's largely irrelevant.

Or... SC might have adjusted how it works when the MM widens the search over time. It's possible the MM starts with the "recent performance" counting quite strongly, but perhaps that factor gets relaxed faster than others if it can't find a search. And in practice, given our searches usually take an hour or so, perhaps for us it's therefore not counting much at all; but it might for a clan with a very common line-up with many potential opponents and getting fast matches.

What Iíve noticed lately is we are seeing some engineer again (we donít engineer) most times we had advantage though, and other wars we would be at a huge disadvantage on paper and there skill would suck on match day, Iím wondering if the recent war thing is giving clans what donít perform to well an advantage in the matchmaking to help compensate our 80%ish recent record compared to there say 50% give or take
