The rise and fall of an empire

This is a story about the first ever real, tight-knit clan I had even joined, and it was a wild ride.

At first, I never saw the appeal of clash of clans. It just seemed too much of a grind and a time waster. It took my older brother and his friends to coax me into playing and joining their clan, named Cuz Clique. The clan was just a bunch of 10-15 kids just enjoying life but losing clan wars. We eventually got tired of losing, so one of our elders(at the time before co leaders) decided that we should merge clans in order to gain a footing. That is when we met the clan [i]PlaY

[i]PlaY was a clan of only about 10 people at the time, but we were only interested in boosting our clan member numbers up, so we said why not. They were a group of tight-knit players who all knew each other in real life in some sort of fashion. We decided to organize a merge with them, but they wanted to keep the name, as if it was special to them, and after some debate, we obliged and prepared to merge. They opened up their clan and lowered the trophy requirement, and we flooded in like children in a candy store. We knew nothing about them, and it was awkward at first, but slowly we formed relationships and got to know eachother. At the same time, recruiting became the main focus of the clan, trying to get as many loyal members to join as quickly as possible, and that led to multiple hoppers stealing our donations and members getting kicked out by new TH10s joining to create chaos. We decided to up our policy on new members, and became pros at determining who should be able to join and not.

Once the clan gained a total of 35 members, we started the big clan wars(they were huge to us, only previously we only played 10player wars) and we were easy wins for other clans at first. We had to refine our art, and that is what happened. We would attack who could be three starred, but not the lowest th4 in the other clan. We adapted and learned war strategies. We grew together until [i]PlaY became an unstoppable war machine.

[i]PlaY leveled up, and we gained attention from people in global chat to members from other clans that we crushed in wars. It came to the point that the clan became full and we needed a feeder. So it was born, [i]PlaY 2, the farming-feeder to [i]PlaY. I had worked my way up the ranks of [i]PlaY to the point where I was appointed the founder of the feeder clan. I created the clan, made a catchy description, and went to global with some others from the main clan to help recruit. It was like we had opened the gates to heaven, as we easily gained about 25 members in a matter of 2 days. The [i]PlaY empire was forming, or it seemed.

The feeder clan was nothing compared the the main clan. We accepted rushed based and lower level players in hopes that we could guide them and form them into power players that could be accepted into the main clan for wars, but that was not the case. In just 4 days of the feeder clan being formed, the members became restless. They wanted in the main clan, claiming that their rushed th9 bases were clearly better than a th8 trying to max out walls. We didn’t buy it, but they threatened to leave the clan, which was a no no for us, since we wanted to guide these people into becoming successful. More members joined this ideology that they should be in the main clan, and this became very annoying. I decided I was through with this, so I made loyal members who weren’t stirring rebellion to co leaders and we went ham. We. Kicked. Everyone. Only the loyal ones and founders were safe from the ban hammer. In less than a week, the feeder to the clan [i]PlaY has fallen. This would be a problem for the leaders of the main clan, so I decided to make my appeal to the nobility of the main clan and left a loyal member as leader of the feeder. The leaders were very understanding in what had gone down, but decided it was time to disband the feeder and not utilize it.

[i]PlaY still progressed as a clan, and we wanted to have more wars. Yet, some didn’t. There began arguments and it seemed a divide was imminent. About 20 members broke off from [i]PlaY to form the more war frequent clan, [i]PlaY FTW. This was a very dramatic moment for the main clan, as many of our good war players had left, we seemed to be one the decline. Back to phase one, recruiting. Kick the hoppers and trolls, keep the loyal ones. We got our numbers up back to hovering around 40-50, and regained traction.

The war machine had a renaissance, and we were restored to full power, if not better. We made amends with the [i]PlaY FTW members and became mutual friends, helping eachother out when absolutely needed. We were on the rise, we could have been on top...

The leader of [i]PlaY, had an accident. He got in a car wreck and was hospitalized. His sister took control of the account( as she was in the clan as well) and asked us for prayers. This event shook the clan, and although we didn’t see it, it was the beginning of the end for [i]PlaY. We tried to keep on keeping on. The war schedule didn’t change, and we kept winning, except for the loss every once in a while. Only, the losses became a little more than a once in a while. We tried to lighten up, kick some inactives. Change our policies. It didn’t seem like much had changed, but in retrospect, much had changed. People started to become less and less active, but weren’t kicked due to them being friends or very loyal at some point in time. Hoppers started to leak back into the clan. The co leaders became less active and members started losing interest in the game. At the same time, this affected [i]PlaY FTW. It seemed we had just burnt ourselves out, and all it took was an event like our leader being taken out of the picture to start the process of the downfall. Slowly but surely, I became inactive, sometimes checking the collectors, getting a gem box. [i]PlaY has fallen. A war machine, that had become family to the core group, was disbanded.

You can still see the clan if you look it up in clan search. [i]PlaY ended with a 260-98-9 war ratio.

I am trying to revive and restore the former greatness that [i]PlaY once was. The name has an attachment to me, unlike other clans. That is why I have made the clan [i]PlaY Reborn, in hopes to make a clan to rival the success of the original [i]PlaY. Join if you want to help, but thanks for reading
