My post is opinion unless I specifically state it's a fact.
Anything they do for the anniversary is something extra, so I am happy for it. Hilarious would be to let the Eagle Artillery spray confetti instead of grenades, or something alike.
And how about a quicksand trap? Only to be countered by a freeze, if not all your troops sink into the ground. Or a Volkswagen Beetle as ground Siege? So many idea's pop up :-)

All I remember from last year is that as usual SC couldn't make everyone happy.....
confetti is an good idea. how about the confetti do damage on everything? it will destroy the whole base within seconds. 🤣🤣🤣🎉🎉🎉🎉
I was not disappointed at last years anniversary event at all. I thought it was a lot of fun actually. It was different and made you work a little more carefully to avoid the traps and plan for the spawning troops.So first off I love the game, the latest update is great. However let’s not forget just how truly horrible the anniversary was last year.
A couple things that come to mind:
1. troops spawning from a builder hut when destroyed
2. The shrink trap totally ruining war attacks
3. And the most annoying thing, 1 gem boost on collectors only lasting 1 day instead of for a whole week.
I’m sure I’m missing things, but the 5th anniversary of clash should have been awesome, instead it was brutally awful. Here’s hoping the 6th anniversary is better.
I think your words "truly horrible" and " brutally awful" are over the top harsh and you certainly don't speak for everyone. They took some creative liberties and had some fun.

Meanwhile, in the builder base, a tired Battle Machine operator limps home. He is bruised by giant cannon balls. His spine is compressed by crushers. His hair and beard is singed by roasters. He pours three fingers of Old Tennessee, and slumps into a rocking chair. He stares morosely at at an empty rug in front of a cold fireplace. A single tear escapes his left eye.

As much as I felt sorry for the guy, that was one of the most hilarious things I have ever seen in CoC
I thought it was cool.
