I got the idea of better defending, but it doesn't promote activity in any sense.

Getting back to the game after a defense just to request for troops is a way to encourage activity. I never use the sleep mode though, I always have CC troops to defend my base and request for war troops once I got a shield.

Hmmm. Good point that. However, if you care about defence, you still have to log back in to reset traps, and you know you will probably have a long guard, so there is no rush. Encouraging logging back in would work with resurrected defence troops resurrecting at a lower level.

I have now set all my accounts' CCs to sleep, and it is fantastic. I can wake up, log on, no one else is online, but I am confident that I have my CC attack troops ready.

The problem, restating, is the disconnect between war battles and multiplayer battles. War battles have defending CC troops, mulitplayer battles have no defending CC troops. I just think it would be better, better for war practice, to have CC defence more often.

Sure, it may not happen, we throw up lots of ideas here at I&FR, but lots of them do get taken up, its hard to know. Responses on the forum correlate poorly what what the devs do. Better account security, now here with SuperCell ID, received very few comments, but here we have it!

And what is the purpose of having your CC attack troops ready? To raid once you are online. To get loot for upgrade.
But at the expense of getting attacked without any defending CC troops. Trust me, you will save more with defending CC troops than not.

I have seen countless of times where defending CC troops completely threw the attacker off guard and ruin the raid. Good defending. I might get hit for 70% more often than just 50%. Not sure how many Dark Elixir I saved.

Normally when I am running out of Guard Time and troops are under training, I would just log off and get attacked within 1 minute with CC troops defending. And then I would log in again few minutes after and request for CC troop before I logged off. Next time I am online I still have the attacking troops.

I think that if you actively does that, you will get rewarded. Not saying your idea isn't good, but just isn't really required. But I would agree though for FC to have CC Troop at your choice and Heroes defending even if they are under upgrade. It would make more sense from testing in FC point of view.
