Agreed Laurence, very different and challenging derby which we enjoyed very much.

Having said that it would have been nice if the limitations on the number of blossom tasks had been explained before the derby started. Perhaps Supercell thought it would be fun to leave people struggling to understand the mechanics of this derby? While it didn’t particularly trouble us, it did cause some stress and friction in friends hoods - I wonder how much Supercell appreciates just how difficult it can be to run a hood? You guys didn’t even answer people’s questions on the forum either. I feel that your lack of information or answers let down a lot of hoods and players this week.

Was interesting. Should have had a lot more explanation up front. We need another bingo derby badly. Been like 10 weeks since had one.

I really, REALLY enjoyed the Blossom derby.

At least my mini farm did - it's in a hood with 17 people opted in, people who actually communicated a bit.

Meanwhile on my big farm with its team of 4 - I set up a mining task (!) and nobody ended up taking it for 350
Hay Day farm level 87 -Town Reputation level 19
    Farm ID #298YQQ2QU
10/12 sanctuary animals- 6 adults, 4 babies - Done gathering expansion permits
Started September 2014! (not in a hurry.)
    Mini farm started on April 24th, 2018! ~Level 44/Rep 10~

Our hood liked Blossom Derby. We have 4, so we always had two blossom tasks on the board. We kept a couple of fast 320s on the board, but mostly trashed them. If we didn't like the next blossom task that came up after the first one was finished, we trashed it, and the next task to come up would automatically be a blossom task. At one point it started giving us slow ones but we kept trashing and eventually got fast ones. We did mostly fast crops (wheat carrots sugarcane soy). Knowing what we were doing next was helpful becuase we could have the crops fully ready for the first harvest as soon as it was our turn to do the task. For a hood that communicates and is organized, this was a really fun derby.

And for somebody above talking about train tasks being slow, don't you stack your town for derbies????? Train tasks only take as long as it takes to click on 23 peeps holding presents!

I feel like this might create some issue, as a player taking the task first time (with 320 points) will always have low points than subsequent players taking the task (with 350 points). This might lead to no one taking these tasks at first. But in case there is close coordination between the hood members then players might alternate the tasks as needed. How was your experience playing this derby?

It’s understandable that you would think this would matter, and in some NH’s maybe their guidelines need to be waived for the blossom derby. In my NH we try to stay in the CL and achieve all the threshold prizes. Most weeks we also place. So in my NH as long as we are working together to try to maximize the points out of the blossom tasks, no one is thought badly of if they are the first person to take the the task and only gets 320 points. Communication either in chat or other messaging the NH might use is important because even if everyone has done the task, it will go back on the board and must be trashed. For a large NH this can be a challenge.

Our NH had 7 opted in the first Blossom Derby and we thoroughly enjoyed it. And we did alternate the tasks as far as who started one, but more so that everyone was working on something and could be ready for another when a hoodmate was finished with theirs.
We had quite a bit of fun.

Awesome. I think proper communication & coordination in the main key here in these type of special derbies.
    Thanks for sharing your experience.

First blossom derby I noticed people reluctant to take the 320-375 tasks. I made it clear that it was a team effort and took a load of the lower point tasks myself. Then at the end of the derby I particularly praised those who took one for the team with the lower tasks. This time round I emphasised the importance of playing for the team and most players just got stuck in right from the start, with my best team players leading by example.

Also, I feel before the derby started lots of hood members were quite confused and had lots of questions. Thankfully we have a great video now that explains it in more details.
