New rule suggestion: If a person doesn’t opt out of derby, they must complete at least 1 task in order to collect gifts.
I am so bummed by players who can still collect prizes I’ve worked so hard for when they don’t participate. I know we can boot members who don’t opt out, but when an established member fails to opt out and we don’t realize it until it’s too late to opt them out ourselves, then they need to understand they won’t be receiving prizes they have not earned.
I know it might create a technical challenge, but it seems only reasonable to me!
Hay Day suggested I present it to the Forum for others to comment on.
Consider a NH of 30 people, who play the derby for the rewards, not for the rankings. It only takes 13 people to hit the last horseshoe, 10 if on 400 points with the extra task. They take turns to play so that each week half of them rests while the other play, resulting in everyone getting all the rewards every week for half the work. Derby is less of a chore, since everyone gets an off week every other week.
My NH works this way, though those are not the exact numbers. Respectfully i have to cast a vote against the idea.
Sorry Khubert. 😊 I think you answered the question already. HD already supplies the solution. Do the hard thing and kick the member out when you have to or do the charitable thing and allow your established member who made a mistake to get the prizes. 🤷♥♀️ I’m going to agree that we don’t need a blanket rule for this.
On a more personal note - having read Benjamin’s contribution here and being in a NH by myself (my choice), I wouldn’t wish the need to play every single week (or drop out of the Champions League) on anyone else. That’s a great solution Benjamin.
