Why can’t we use elixir on walls in builder base?

I’m always maxing it lately with nothing to spend it on but long troop upgrades. Why can’t we upgrade walls with elix like in regular base?

Well, you can: for level 8 you have the choice!
You need to plan of course anyway as you need a level 7 wall in time.

There is plenty of stuff to spend your Elixir on, there.

I upgrade a troop and have no elix left. Then I max before the troop finishes upgrading. It’s stupid.

LVL 7 walls can be upgraded to LVL 8 with elixer

No, works fine - with some planning.
When you start a 5 or 6 day upgrade in your lab, you have 4 to 5 days left to upgrade one wall to level 7 with gold. Okay, the gold is gone - you might have to skip a defense upgrade for some days. Once you have a level 7 wall, you can dump elixir when you start scratching the 4M level. One has to admit that afterwards you are low on elixir and your lab might run idle for a while. There it helps to have some cheaper troop upgrades left.

It is not that bad in total. There is no need to waste gold or elixir in the builder hall.

I agree with you. I think SC does too since we can use elixir to use on walls.

Elixir can be used to upgrade walls from Lv 7 to Lv 8, so you have enough to spend your elixir on.

The same problem existed at BH7 though too. I think they need to allow Wall-7 upgrades to be performed with elixir too.

With some proper planning, actually you could avoid overflowing Elixir at BH7. I did that and never waste single Elixir.
At BH8 though, walls is available to upgrade with Elixir, so there should not be any overflowing Elixir.
