Just throwing a thought out here - the reduction of Freeze to 1 housing space, but half the duration, is a fairly large nerf to the single target inferno tower. TH10 generally use 1 psn to take care of cc troops, while th12 just often forgoes the poison. TH10+ now has the option of carrying a freeze instead of a second poison, which gives it the ability to reset the IT without sacrificing a 2-slot elixir spell.

I know skeleton spells could also similarly distract an IT, but its efficacy depended on both timing and the other defenses near the IT.
