I have four farms. I have bought diamonds on two of them but for years now I’ve only bought for my main farm. I never *had* to buy diamonds. I’ve always liked time/resource management games. A few months into the game I decided to purchase in order to support the game because I liked - still like - it so much. I like to think of my diamond purchases as appreciation for the game and my contribution to the world economy...keeping folks employed and countries ticking along nicely.😊 The real pleasure I get from my little farm is my bonus.
I speed boats because I’m not waiting 12 hours minimum to do any derby task that doesn’t involve soil. (ha!) I have occasionally sped up production but it’s hardly ever necessary. I like decorating my main farm. The others are basically factories so no premium anything for them.
If I ever felt as if I had to spend money on this game, I would stop playing and this is coming from someone that also buys games for PC, Nintendo and XBox. That’s because games like these, when they require money purchases, require a constant outlay of money I’m not prepared to give to anything that doesn’t share my last name!😏
[For anyone interested in old school adventure games with an engaging storyline, I beg you, give the Syberia series from Benoit Sokal a try. I unreservedly recommend 1 and 2 and give a “meh” to 3 because I really dislike the gameplay].
Lvl 63, town 18, derby I don’t play anymore because I dislike the matchmaking system for solo players in champions league. That is the main reason I don’t spend, among some others. Been playing 3-4 months I think, didn’t really keep track.
I played Boom Beach before and quit because of matchmaking system being just a subtle money grab. My husband still plays it, as a turtle, attacking none, which for me is a ridiculous playstyle for a PvP game that should not be viable.
I am and always have been against the f2p microtransactions game models, I prefer subscription because such games weed out some bad apples and keep gameplay fair for everyone. I am not a fan of mobile gaming either, give me a PC or console, this is all just farmville and candy crash variations more or less. This game is not as bad as they come so hanging around until I get my proper gaming equipment back. No plans to spend real money so far.
I'm very selective about what I use my diamonds for. I bought the $20 sale pack for $15.99 (570 diamonds) and it took me months to get through those LOL
I use them mainly to keep at least one helper active (either tom or ernest, not a fan of rose) and to open machine slots.
Sending Tom for mining materials helps replenish diamonds spent on him, and if I had patience, I feel I would never need to buy diamonds. But I don't have any patience
I just hit level 80, and treated myself by buying the $40 package for like $27? I forget the exact cost, but I figured 1500 diamonds could get me to where I really want to be - which is mainly, 9 slots in all the major machines. Particularly machines that are used in derby tasks.
I've already gone through about 1000 of them just upgrading machines to max, and I'm sooooo much happier for it.
I knocked out a warm task overnight without having to prestack! (thats 10 berry cakes, 11 cotton shirts, and 7 ice cream)
I've been playing a little over 8 months now, and I've spent roughly $75 total on sales of diamonds. That's less than a netflix subscription. But I think Hayday is awesome, and my last game I played for 3 years, only gave them $20 the entire time. For me it really is about paying for quality. My last game had a LOT of issues, and the worst customer service I ever dealt with. It's like night and day.
I'm lvl 120, I've never bought diamonds. I wanted to, but then i read here, that I would loose my pink movie tickets when I buy diamonds so I don't. I like the certainty that I get two free diamonds every day. I watch the commercials!
I'm level 181. I bought 133 diamonds twice as a thank you to Supercell. I only used them for deco though, not as pay to play.
I'm addicted to Hay Day, so I've accumulated 1000+ diamonds, even though I hire Tom once a month or so for 90 diamonds.
Remember, without free-playing farmers, this game would've been really boring, as there would've been only thousands playing, not millions!
Hi,
I'm level 75 - 2016 playing.
I bought diamonds package only twice, when the price is very very cheap. My first farm (lvl 54, since 2013 never bought diamond package).
I bought the diamonds to max. dairy mills & sugars machine (when I was on level 25 - 37, I guess).
Collecting diamond without buying the package is very slow, I collecting them from level/reputation up, global event (my favorite), fishing, mystery chest in the sea, mining.
I think supercell are pretty good to f2p in all of thier games to be honest.
I've played clash royale for 2 years and reached 5k spending r roughly 40 pounds in total on the arena offers, although I know if I do want to progress any further then I'd have to spend 1000s really to stand a chance against the whales of the game.
Clash royale not spent anything on that and I'm a fully maxed th 10
Don't intend spending anything on hayday as I've only just started playing it.
But if it's lime the other supercell games I'm sure you can do just fine staying a f2p player.
I canceled my Netflix and spent the money for hay day. So happy I did.
I buy the big 4000 diamond package twice a year, and budget $11 a month. I have loved the game since doing that after level 100. I use rose, earnest, and tom full time, and speed things up occasionally.
while the game was fine not spending money, it was so much better when I did.
