Im of the leaning that Supercell has already adequately addressed engineering. Seems to me that clans with lopsided bases face other clans with lopsided bases. There are exceptions to the rule as always, but generally wars seem fairly evenly matched in my experience. Clans with a typical mix of townhall levels with typically weighted bases arent regularly being mismatched. This seems to be an issues for clans that have players that either dont hold their weight or are ignorant on maintaining a relatively equal or favorable offense to defense ratio.

I think the solution for TH12 is a fantastic idea, and I can't wait to see how it effects the meta

You’re missing the entire point of my post.

If you engineer a TH9 you wouldn’t drop the Xbows right ?
If you engineer a TH10 you wouldn’t drop the infernos right ?
If you engineer a TH11 you wouldn’t drop the eagle right ?

Well with the TH12 upgrade you have no choice. You MUST build the defense weapon unique to that TH because it’s integrated in the TH. You get it for free. Well the first level at least...

Is it an ultimate fix to end all engineering ? Of course not (I already said that)

It is However one step in the right direction. So I stand by what I said, it doesn’t promote engineering. (or make it worse).
It will help make the situation better.
Ok, fair enough, I admit I did not not read all your replies, but if this is your view I agree. It is a step in the right direction, but, I put my stick in the ground, it will only help improve tge battle against engineering if it also requires other defense buildings deployed before moving to th12. If I am reading your reply correct you may agree with that right? 👍
Just quoted from SC website: Many of us had been big fans of games like World of Warcraft, which most people play for years, not just weeks or months. Our dream was to create game services with longevity like that. And we wanted to create them for the widest group of people possible. They would be games that almost everyone could get into.
We believed (author´s note: past sentense) in the power of simple, fun game play.

Come look at our war log, we are all maxers, occasionally we have a recovering rusher in the mix, yet, 40% of our wars we have faced mildly to extreme engineers. It is far from solved allthough slightly improved maybe....

Oh yea this alone sure won’t win the whole war and it’s just one battle won in a big war. (Excuse the puns)

And yea it would be truly amazing if SC would implement that I fully agree, whether they will or not.. we will have to wait.

Agree, all we can do is wait and see, and hope for the best. On a side note, my reply was not to be negative, just to be a healthy critic. I actually take my hat off for SC building a longevity game like this, and keeping forums with so much mud fights running, but final note, that does not mean I necessarily agree with everything

    No worries!
Its perfectly fine to disagree, heck I don’t always agree with everything being done or somethings maybe not done.
It was just my words were taken in a completely different meaning an before ya know it they start leading their own life.

I think you may be a bit out of date on engineering. TH10s without infernos are suicide, unless extreme ones beating up TH7s. Similarly TH9s with no xbows. Sure there are engineers out there missing some of those, but I doubt they are very successful (they usually get massacred if we encounter them).

The EA is often omitted still, although I'm not sure if even that's a good idea; I've just never seen anyone trying any alternative schemes.
