Ok I may be being sceptical but we normally win and don't mind spending a few diamonds In my mind that's what keeps the game alive! But bloomin heck this is taking the biscuit! Mainly wool, goats milk, and bacon tasks for all! Sorry hay day won't gem those tasks!

The thing about the MD is that you have to take the good with the bad. There is no trashing of tasks if you want to complete with a perfect score. In our derby right now, there is only 1 NH that has not done all MD tasks. Players need to be keenly aware of what they are doing currently on their farm that might throw a wrench in their derby. Even that does not make the tasks you mention any more enjoyable, but a bit less bitter.

We normally will only use diamonds to call boats if we have a boat task, and for the 10th task. The MD will not change that. In fact, in MD’s of the past we have actually spent far less diamonds because we have not had the number of boat tasks. So I do not look at the MD as a money grab.

To be fair what can you do to make collecting goats milk less bitter! If you have 4 players only having something to do every 8 hours, it kills normal nh chit chat etc. Believe me we have tried! Goat memes, t shirts songs etc, but pulling teeth might be more fun! I normally love mystery derbys as like the thrill of not knowing what you are picking, and like a challenge, but if everyone getting boring long tasks it ruins the fun! Now we have a strawberry task to add to the long boring list!
All this said we are still in the lead but sure won't be spending diamonds on something not enjoyable!

I’ve had the dreaded goat milk task and sheep wool task too. I was busier on my farm during that task than many days. Even though my task did not require it, but the time waiting on the animals was spent loading machines and making product for myself and my hoodies. Keeping the cows milked and the chickens fed and laying eggs was still important. I had extra cheese and bacon if my hoodies needed it. Just because one is waiting on the goats does not mean that other parts of your farm do not need love and attention.

When one hoodie had a long crop, like you have now, another was keeping them supplied with the crops they needed to keep the farm producing.

It’s what a player needs to do other than the task that, for me, defines the mystery derby.

Surely that contradicts your previous point. If you have loaded all your machines fed all your animals etc you "might throw a wrench" in your next task!

Not actually, because if I am waiting 6 hours for goats to be ready to milk, I can surely load the machines so that they run only during that time. And the other animals will be ready as well.

I would not load machines or gather from animals just prior to taking a task, but once I know what I’m working with I can still make my farm efficient.

Maybe this works at lvl 147 as you probably have a huge barn. But if you are a much smaller farm and you have used up all your raw materials making what you don't need for next task you will be scuppered! Most of my machines stacked on the off chance of getting that task but I am sorry I fail to see your point in any fun in every task being long for everyone being fun.

Madfreya, I understand exactly how you feel. I had a wool task and everything in my farm came to a standstill because my machines are all stacked fully...to the maximum. There are hardly any machines that are not stacked. I even stopped Rose and Ernest from working as Rose would mess up the animal feed and Ernest would mess up the dairy (loaded with goat cheese) and sugar mill (loaded with syrup). My fields were filled with strawberries in case I get a task that needed strawberry harvest. Now I am stuck with growing 285 lettuce. At first I thought would not be bad, but it takes 3.5 hr to grow lettuce. The farm I am using has only 131 fields, so it is taking 2 rounds to harvest 262 fields and then I still have to wait another 3.5 hr to grow 23 more fields...total of 10.5 hr...and I am sure not spending diamons to speed up 23 fields of lettuce. LOL. So, I just set an alarm and take a break from HD.

My fellow hoodie (only one other opted in) is lucky. She finished her ten mystery tasks hours ago. I am thankful I don't have to be deleting constantly! #2 in the race has not moved for almost all day. There is really no competition, but I have 2 more tasks to do after this lettuce task. I can only cross my fingers that I don't get hit with another long task!
