This is why supercell should either allow players to attack others who are online or just make a separate league for champions with separate rules. I've haven't been to champion, but I've been to masters, and it seems the higher you go in trophies, the less people you see around your level or higher. Even in masters III I had to search for a while before finding another masters III village and a decent win/loss ratio. Most were crystal I and crystal II bases with +13/-30. And to be honest, I stayed logged on much longer than I should have, cause there was no way my base could withstand a hog assault. That's why I'm not surprised that champion league is even worst. I think a lot of players in masters and champion hide their bases by staying online or riding shields. Again, I'm not saying it's wrong to do that; I'm just saying eliminating the online restriction would make things more balanced. Not everyone can leave their devices on all day.
The only problems I can see with this are heroes being killed way too often and the village edit mode exploit (as others have mentioned above). But these are easily fixed. Heroes can be changed to not need re-healing for defense, and editing your village would just need an UPDATE button instead of a SAVE CHANGES. Whenever you hit the UPDATE button, that version of your base is what raiders will see. No matter how much you change or modify your base, if you don't hit this button, people will see the old base. That, I think, would eliminate people hiding in edit mode, or mistakenly moving something for a second and getting raided.

I know it's horrible, but as many already said, if you want to be the best out of millions, I think it's fair that it's harder for you. It would be way too boring if anyone could get to champs, let's keep the Champions as Champions![]()

I agree to this. But let champions fight champions and remove Masters from the search then. What is happening at a lower level with a limited tr difference during attacks is not applied at a higher level: I can find masters II player while being over 3800 tr...
Attacking them is very risky with a +1/-39 ratio and even if you accept the risk, a revenge will kill you (and they will all try, for sure...)

I would argue that SuperCell makes more money from the mass amount of people purchasing small quantity of gems over the few that purchase 5000 pounds of gems...
The way the current trophy system works is relatively decent. The problem is that there aren't that many members at such trophy levels so it resorts to putting you up against lower trophy levels.
You say you want them to cap off how far above and below someone can search in trophy levels (ie a 3300 can't attack a 3700) be prepared for much longer wait times while looking for a battle then. This would fix the trophy ratio problem, but then you'd have something else to complain about.
The overall solution is that SuperCell needs to encourage people to trophy hunt. This will bring more people up to that trophy level. However, many people want to farm their upgrades rather than gem them (and rightfully so).

If I'm not mistaken, Masters are in the search because there are so few offline+unshielded Champions available. If they restrict it to only Champ vs Champ as you're suggesting, it seems like you guys would be staring at the search screen for hours on end before even seeing a base.
