I think it's much more simple than this. Darian did say that the "E" hint is much more literal than the "Q" hint. Therefore I disagree that the E hint is a word beginning with E.

If it's a literal hint then what is E?

E is literally the 5th letter of the alphabet... could the update be dropping on the 5th?

E is literally MC2... which I believe would be something to do with the rage spell (mass/strength x speed). Or could it be rage incorporated into a troop as like the raged barbarian?

it hasnt been said that the hint starts with e. e is the hint. the word could start with e but could start with any other letter and contains one or multiple e.

This has already been explained many times, and even in the dev update video for the Clan Games. It was "Quests".

However, this "E" hint is much more direct and literal. But what is it a hint for? A name? A reference? An existential crisis? Who knows? But I'm sure the revelation will be quite shocking.
