I’m glad I can bring a bit of joy to at least one person’s life.... I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, if you remember that when I’m making a large amount of my posts I’m giggling to myself like a drunken schoolgirl then you’ll probably see them in a different light.

I joined here 5 years ago and never intended to hang around that long. All I wanted to do was ask where trophies came from because I couldn’t work out how anyone had any... but I persevered. My posts have generally remained in the same style over the years, more self deprecating than anything else - if I can’t laugh at myself then how can I laugh at anyone else?

I don’t do social media. I did have a Facebook account many years ago but the way people use it terrifies me. I remember going out one evening many years ago and I was introduced to some new folks, friends of friends. I think I’d shared about 5 words with this one woman when she came up to me about an hour later and chimed ‘I’ve sent you a friend request’... really?! To me that says ‘I don’t know you, but I want to be able to go back through years of your life and look at photos of you and you son. And partners of dubious appearance’. Don’t worry, there is a point to this story....

I like this forum for interacting with people. To me, I like a certain anonymity as it adds more mystery. If I have you as a Facebook friend then I know pretty much everything about you already. But here I learn more and more about people with what they’re willing to share. We all need our privacy and this site is my social media.

I’ve gotten to know a couple of people over the years here and talk to them off forum. Never in my life would I have thought that. In fact, I’m just going out to meet a forum member for a beer... however he’s only on the forum because I told him to and he’s my brother....

So thank you all for keeping me entertained on a daily basis. There are some gems of threads here in between a lot of dross, and it’s threads like this that remind me that we can have a debate as adults and there is still some respect and common decency here. Until I refer to someone as a ‘stultifyingly ill-informed moron’ and get the thread closed.

I honestly do appreciate so many member of this forum, yet do not see the point in friending here, or going in rounds with more personal interactions (AMA, QMT, ...). I go the way back to not even having FB at all (except I logged my name, and never went again anymore).

I tried opinions, but rarely like the way so many forget decency when arguing, that over time I reverted to bug/ifr hoping for more objectivity, even there the discussions (if occur) are so often tampered with subjectivity and misstatements.

As some say "if you cannot handle Global, stay off global". Call me masochist, but I still am on this forum and on global, and just smh and change channel when the discussions veer off acceptable argumentation.

Just to say to most that posted here: you are indeed doing a marvel of entertainment, which keeps many of us active in the forum.

My only advice: mods are here for a reason, and I do not envy there situation at all, but without them the situation would be far worse.
Follow their advice, or seek it, is a better way to all be well together here.

PS: I am French, and PC does not exist in my generation. Americans know the expression "pardon my French" .
I am still struggling with the concept, yet there is no age for learning, just old dogs don't learn new tricks (they stay away).

There's no way I can. But recently someone got banned and then another person came in as a fresh spawn and used the same phrasing. That's a clue but there is no way for a user to know.

ive often wondered how people can tell if people have been using multiple accounts. I mean, I know the mods have ways. But the average player.... not trying to be facetious. Genuinely curious. Also not sure if I’m even allowed to inquire about this..... maybe a pm would be safer? I don’t know....

I’m with you, signing up for the club. I have an odd disability that impacts my post history. Every time I go to type something like “this is the stupidest thing I have ever read” it somehow turns into “welcome to the forum, you’ll find the Ideas and Feature Requests section here”. I think it’s Automatic Autocorrect Syndrome.

Awwww, you're no fun. :P My GF once warned a group of women "He's a flirt and good at it." LOL She's still with me. It's a hobby, mostly harmless unless it gets serious. haha It's kind of a battle of wits for me.

I'm in a country now where even the word flirt is a bad word. Heck, even the word fun is a bad word. I remember the first time a Filipina said she didn't like to have fun. I didn't understand but eventually figured out what she meant. Fun means something a little different here. Flirt is a word you can only use with someone very close to you which kind of takes all the fun out of it. So, I don't get as much practice as I used too.

You're a woman, you know men better than we do. Flirt back and our ego is satisfied and that's all we are ever looking for anyway.

Global? How do I get there? :P
